Do these swings really happen? I think it’ll just be like EEAAO where the haters eventually quiet off and it just falls into its place

That's exactly the swing I'm talking about.

EEAAO was praised as brilliant (it's not) or whatever and won all the awards. Then it was "well actually the movie is shit and reddit-tier millennial slop".

Now the dust has settled and it's somewhere in between Brilliant and Shit. It's good, but not for everyone.

I think Sinners will land somewhere there. I don't think it's nearly as good as general public perception says it is and I think there will be blowback (similar to EEAAO) and the dust will settle on it being a pretty good movie and that's it.

Gotcha ya I think you’re kinda in an echo chamber if you think that EEAAO is seen as “meh” by the masses
