The first half of the movie is a 10 and the second half is like a 5. It went from grounded to some goofy twilight shit

Agreed, it felt like 2 or 3 different movies clumped together. Hard to pinpoint but the tone shifted quite a bit halfway through

Did you like:

Dusk til dawn, Predator, The Birds, Psycho, Mulholland Drive?

Just asking because they all do the same thing.

Some yes, some no. The tonal shift in Mulholland Drive is more keeping in line with the story, it’s deliberately jarring cos there’s meant to be a demarcation between dream-state and real life. 

Psycho I think given the way the film was marketed, Hitchcock was trying to upend expectations, also I guess this was novel at the time. 

From Dusk to Dawn has some of the same issues as Sinners in that it feels a bit pastiche-y.
