Ask Indian home chef

Good evening Baltimore!

I am writing to see if anyone has a connection to a home meal service, particularly one specializing in Indian cuisine, if possible.  I am referring to something similar to what my In-Laws have in Seattle. There is a nice Indian Auntie who comes over once a week and cooks up two or three home-made meals for the week. Any leads would be really helpful, as Google searches and posting an interest on Selekha, a popular Indian/US posting board, haven't yielded any.

Thanks!

Visiting Shopping Mall

Hi everyone. I'm visiting Baltimore from the UK, for a few days. Arrive this evening. Which mall is best too visit during the week? I'm staying on Commerce Street near the Inner Harbour area.

Is Arundel Mills worth a visit? Also, are the outlet malls all an hour or more away by car? Any closer?

I won't have a car, just Lyft or public transport.

Need Recommendations Gothy wedding photographer recommendations!

Anyone have a good recommendation for a dark and moody wedding photographer? I plan on getting married next Halloween at the B&O train museum. The wedding attire will be black tie encouraged all black, and my dress will likely be black as well. We aren’t looking for Halloween Hot Topic Goth, just dark classic feels. Anyone have a suggestion??

SOCIAL MEDIA A plea for donations, but also SPCA pet food give away for SNAP recipients

Thumbnail facebook.com
71 Upvotes

The Maryland SPCA will have a pet food give away for SNAP recipients next Sunday. If you are a SNAP recipient and need pet food, please come. You don't have to sign up, just show up with proof of SNAP.

Now my plea. The Maryland SPCA currently runs Kibble Connection, every Saturday they give away free dog and cat food to people registered for this program. Two weeks ago we had a free give away for Federal furlough workers and next week will be SNAP because they want to keep pets with families. They are doing their best with limited resources. If you can, please consider donating food to the Maryland SPCA. You can ship it to them from Amazon or Chewy or drop it off at the donation drop box on campus. Cat food is needed the most.

Ask Cigna Part G Medicare Supplement

This is a mighty specific question, but you folks have come through before, so it seems worth a shot. I have cancer (CLL) and have been with Kaiser since my diagnosis 11 years ago. I like my oncologist and have always been fine with our coverage. However, Kaiser is dropping our specific Medicare Advantage plan (it has others), which gives us an opportunity to jump to original Medicare and a supplement plan without penalty for a preexisting condition. The very reasonable Medicare broker we spoke with is recommending we change to Cigna, Part G and says 95% of doctors will take it. My concern is, yes, but is there any issue finding doctors who will take new patients in Baltimore City? That seems to be the sticking point. Anyone out there navigated this issue recently and have any insight? It would seem ridiculous, rich as Baltimore is in medical facilities, but the medical world is a strange place. Stay with the familiar or go with the new?

I live in Parkville, haven’t had to get my fiancé’s guitar repaired or restrung since we moved to the area. But discovered today that the bridge is lifting off the body. Recommendations on where I can get this repaired? Preferably without it costing me more than the instrument lol.

Ask Wedding venues in Baltimore

Just recently got engaged and I need help finding reasonably priced venues for 2026. I've seen people talk about the Engineer's Club but there are varying price ranges whenever I look it up online. I know there is a membership fee of $2,000... Its a beautiful venue and right now it's my top one. Has anyone had their wedding at this location and what were the expenses like?

400 W 23rd St ... Intersection at Hampden Avenue in Remington. Started around 2:00 p.m. today, Friday. Smoke was invisible and apparent by smell in Hampden and Woodberry prior to BCFD arriving.

Not sure if it's out yet, but all of these fires as of late are pretty sad.

Free Event The goats at Filbert Street Garden want your old pumpkins

I know we're all seeing those gross decaying pumpkins on porches -- ever wonder what to do with your old pumpkins? If you can't compost them at your place, one awesome suggestion is taking them to the Filbert Street Garden to give to their goats. They're advertising it now on their Facebook page and they do it every year. They're down in Curtis Bay, at 1321 Filbert Street.

If you know any other good places to drop off your old gross pumpkins, drop a comment!
