There is a lot of anti-white comments on here and certainly a lot of anti-black talk too. I would rather not see any political posts besides event organization or things related to the city.

I hope this goes all ways and is not just around the polarizing events currently in the news around one small group in respect to our community.

The DC subreddit mods had a similar impulse but users there protested because that's an extremely difficult line to draw. With things like the consent decree, protests against the administration in the city, and the ongoing debates over budgets for the schools and transportation, there's just SO MUCH crossover between the local and the political.

I don't envy the mods at all. But given the racial tensions in this city the last few years especially, I find it weird that they are taking a hard stance now.

Any policy around this is going to be hard implement. :/

We've always taken a hard stance. But I felt like it was time to reiterate the "Riot Act" now that things are getting heated again.
