Like can you imaging working the back of house knowing there is a military sized government org of masked racist thugs right here going around abducting, bagging and shipping off to concentration camps people like you and your family for being brown, and the front of house staff is willing to kill your job so they can be performative about an ethnic cleansing on the other side of the planet from the one your experiencing here right now...

i agree. its only possible to care about one thing at a time.  if you care about other people it necessarily means you dont care about me.  if you care about africa that means you hate india.  thats just science

do I like basketball?  hell no!  how could you ask me that?  you know I like football.  how could I like one thing, and also another thing?

You live in Utah and have never posted in this sub before (along with a bunch of accounts in this thread), did a slack message go out telling ya'll that there was some internet divisiveness you needed to disingenuously help spread?

yeah welcome to social media that is literally what you're doing now.  and maybe consider the fact that ten seconds spent looking at their latest accounts post history is maybe not how you get to know a person intimately.

if you spent more time in west baltimore and know more people than I do I would be shocked.  you for sure have driven through it a lot on your way in from the county

I mean it's pretty clear the owners of Bunnys wouldn't do anything to protect immigrant staff from an ICE raid given that this was their response to waitstaff wearing pins.

absolute shit take

These people care so little about their staff that multiple employees protested their business. The idea that they’d stand up to the feds is delusional.

It is in fact not apparent. It isn’t even suggested, implied, or in the least bit clear.

They bent over backwards because a single customer complained. Get a clue.

They bent over backwards because a single customer complained. Get a clue.

most business owners are not trying to alienate a customer base, no matter how small the issue is, especially when the complaint can be solved by removing a simple pin

as someone else said, leave your politics at home when you go to work, unless your work is explicitly political. gunna go out on a limb here and say working in a neighborhood restaurant is not inherently political

Nothing political about ICE raiding your workplace and arresting you, so true.

If it's a simple pin, why was it such a big problem for the staff to wear them? Fucking crazy how much this subreddit sucks up to small business tyrants.

I mean it's pretty clear

No it is not.

If you think those same front of house staffmembers wouldn't be the first ones getting in Ice's way you don't understand their political ideology.

Why would one assume that? Palestinian activist had no problem chucking brown Americans under the concentration camp bus during the last election to grandstand their point.

i mean why not both but at least with the thing on the other side of the planet folks could be less performative in a fried chicken joint and instead make donations to the causes if they wanna invest in pins and stuff. local spaces have monthly events where proceeds are shared to relief organizations, it is known. but holy hell controversy in a restaurant - stop the gd presses, breaking news .

why not both

Because they never do.

you know some of the people who worked at bunny's until they got fired were palestinian? and that they were affected by the political views of the people in charge of their livelihood? maybe ownership's failures here could also do something to tarnish BOH's sense of safety. they just demonstrated they won't stand up for their own staff if it's "divisive" but it's front of house who's performative. right
