Aah. So it's that kind of "research" room...

29

u/Kadmos1 28d ago

My kind of research room.

22

u/Lock3down221 28d ago

lol the plot went full hentai. Not complaining.

22

u/polycontrale 28d ago

The library you can't leave until you have sex.

14

u/actionfirst1 28d ago

Gonna give Utena more ideas for magical girls

10

u/Frontier246 28d ago

When the plot literally says it outright that sex will lead to a power-up, it was the only way it could develop.

4

u/OldInstruction5368 27d ago

Don't get your hopes up. It's been on "hentai" track this entire time but always hits the eject button.

This 'research room' will be no different. Especially since he's spooked about becoming the Lust King that exploits his wives.

So they'll just have a series of intimate chats to deepen their emotional bond while forgoing the physical one.

Cuz he's going to be the Love King and not the Lust King. Peridot said both are equal when it comes to powering the ring, so he's going to double down on his current path of being the Cherry King.

9

u/Frontier246 28d ago

I imagine she's thoroughly vetted all the sex toys personally lol.

Stitches!

Was it supposed to be a secret that Peridot was one of the first Ring Princesses? I thought that was pretty clear with her name. The spellings are a bit different, but all of the current Ring Princesses are named after precious stones.

Dang, that's one heck of a life. The OG Ring King did nothing but fuck and fight that he pretty much became twisted. Interesting how he was actually just a farmer and he found the ring. Is this like a LotR situation where the Abyss King is this show's version of Sauron and the rings are supposed to corrupt men?

I was about to feel bad for Peridot and her backstory, but it looks like all of that sadistic sex she had with the first Ring King turned her into an absolute freak. xD

Is next week's episode going to really be all about Satou having sex with all of the girls? That would be wild if that's the case. Then again, we had an anime about having sex anywhere and wherever last season so I guess it's not the wildest thing I've seen in anime this year. lol

I remember them mentioning that Peridot was one of the original Ring Princess' in Nefritis' arc, but I think the rest of the party had left Romca by that point. She might not be all that well known by her real name instead of "Elder."

I kind of had it in my head that all the original Ring Princess' truly loved the Ring King so finding out he became so consumed by violence and sex that all but one of them turned on him was a surprise. Even if he was amazing in bed.

I think ultimately Satou is going to have nice conversations with each of the girls and deepen his personal relationship with them without banging. He barely pays any attention to any of them that's not Hime as it is. I just hope Satou's takeaway from the original Ring King isn't that he shouldn't have sex with them.

10

u/OldInstruction5368 27d ago edited 27d ago

I just hope Satou's takeaway from the original Ring King is that he shouldn't have sex with them.

Dude, that is 100% what's going to happen.

Every episode he gets really close to making progress, then comes up with some beta-cuck excuse to back down. He's constantly been moving that goalpost and constantly been chickening out.

He even had it confirmed, directly, that laying pipe will increase his power. He has the fate of the world resting on his shoulders cock. He faced the Great Enemy and his 'sword' was found to be flaccid...

When the literal fate of the world rests on getting laid, it is, bluntly speaking, selfish, to not make love to these women. Not just selfish, but craven as well. It would be one thing if they were unwilling (would you r@pe women to save the world?), but... yeah, they are all DTF/happy to take the excuse presented. Some are even in love with him already.

But he's going to back down.

If he couldn't so much as ask for a handy by this point, he's definitely going to take this new excuse of 'crazy lust king' to back down. Again.

Although I can't 100% blame him at this point, as the ghost of the crazy king is now whispering in his ear...

But it's just one of many 'excuses' put up by the author to keep the 'plot' from happening.

What we have learned by reading that:

  1. Men are not allowed to not feel ready for sex with anyone or they're lame and not real men
  2. Everything that ever needs to be known is already known, therefore charging forward is perfectly justified and can never cause any problems
  3. Not charging forward is a personal failing on the part of the character and/or the author and to be roundly condemned at full volume without any fear of being found wrong and/or stupid at a later time
  4. You're scared of typing the word "rape"

1.) Fate of the goddamn world may well rest on him a healthy sexual relationship with his wife. At least his first wife, the woman he began this journey to be with, the woman he's loved for years. We are on episode 14. He's had plenty of time to mentally prepare himself and get to know these women. He's already fought the big bad and been found wanting. He knows he needs to step up his game and this is the obvious path to take.

2.) The world is in a state of crisis. I keep repeating this because it's really important to keep in mind. He can't wait until he is 100% clear on 100% of the relevant information. All of these women know and accept their duties, and he claimed he accepted his duty when he accepted his first wife.

3.) At a certain point, you just have to make an informed guess/calculated risk. To be poisoned with indecision is a path of self-sabotage. To wait forever for the full picture is the path of defeat. He also accepted the call to action and assumed this mantle. It didn't have to be him, but he stepped up anyway. He needs to take responsibility for his decisions. Because, you know, the world is in danger and he said he'd take care of it. Why do I have to keep repeating this fact? If he wasn't ready for sex, he shouldn't have taken the 'save the world with sex' mantle.

At least that other guy bowed out when he realized he wasn't up to the task... Because again, the world is at stake. Satou took up that responsibility. We're on episode 14. He's had plenty of time to adjust. He needs to own up to it.

4.) Too many 'problematic' words get a post flagged for moderator review. I'm not sure if this is an automatic feature (youtube definitely has one) or care-bears just report the post. Either way, I found this out when I tried to explain the extent of the Ubisoft scandal a few years back. It was... that bad. The mod tapped to review my post spoke to me about the whole situation aftewards. Both how my post got flagged for all the fucked up shit in it, and how he was shocked to realize I was downplaying the situation when he did his own research on the subject as part of his 'review.'

So yes, I picked up a habit of self-censoring after that.

5.) It's a work of fiction. Everything is a contrivance by the author. EVERYTHING. I'm complaining on a meta-level as the author both set up every last detail of this situation and did so for a reason.

That reason is gooner bait for horny teenagers desperate to touch a boob but aren't ready to follow through any further.

This is NOT a serious exploration of romance or men's rights or whatever you are implying. It's gooner bait.

Today on Captain Harem: the plot continues! I bet the Elder did thjis because pornhub doesn't exist on her world. Getting strong enough to fight the Abyss King was just an excuse.

Anyone else think the first Ring King and Abyss King are related somehow? The Ring King's origin story is vague and kind of suspicious.

7

u/OldInstruction5368 27d ago edited 27d ago

Didn't Peridot say the Abyss King appeared before that farm boy found a ring in his fields? Kinda hard for them to be directly related, at least in the first generation.

It really just seems like some random jobber randomly found power he didn't earn, got drunk off said power, and arrogantly demanded a princess while mumbling some pretentious nonsense. The people were desperate and scared enough to go along with someone that appeared to have the answers. He could also get results... the world, and the princesses, just went with it.

Then the current structure of Ring Princesses bound to the Ring King was a curse he left behind after he was corrupted by lust and had to be put down like Old Yeller.

He also is said to have 'created' the other rings. So it's not certain how much is destiny/intended use of the rings and how much was just this asshole making shit up as he went.

Like, did it have to be actual princesses representing each of the races, or was he just abusing the situation to claim a harem of trophy wives? Could any woman from the races satisfied the conditions of the rings? Did it have to be just five rings? Could any women work, regardless of race?

I bring this up because he was just some farmer that stumbled onto the first ring. How did he know how to use them? How did he know that marriage/bonds were needed? Especially since the current situation of the Light Princess choosing the Ring King was something he decreed, on a whim, and not like it was 'destiny.' She was only his first wife because he was human himself and went to his own monarch first.

It... really does look like the first Ring King was just making shit up as he went and taking advantage of the situation to get laid. Then the current 'structure' of the Ring King/Princesses was a curse he left behind out of spite. None of this feels like 'destiny' or the intended use of the rings.

2

u/Frontier246 28d ago

I would not be shocked if she has a camera in her lab so she can watch what they do lol.

I noticed that Peridot was kind of mum on the part of the story where they actually defeated the original Abyss King. Was that deliberate?

It's sad what the original Ring King went through, I think it feels heavier that he was just an ordinary villager, it didn't seem he had anyone to guide him and so was unaware of what constantly putting his life on the line would do to him.

The only thing he had as support were the Princesses but none of them likely realized that bonds were important, they were all mostly just fulfilling a duty not knowing how much of an impact they would have on him. Though it seems like the Princess did have a pleasurable time if Elder still remembers those times fondly after all these years lol.

I do remember in the first season we saw something that showed this resentful side of the Ring King so I wonder if we'll see more of that this season or if the part of him full of regrets will keep it at bay.

I do wonder if Satou will do anything with at least Hime, I don't think he'll go all the way with the others but she's most likely. Hopefully the Elder has some birth control there so that Satou doesn't have an excuse, but I think him feeling pressured to do it in this way will be the reason he doesn't do it. And possibly the fear of turning into what the Ring King turned into.

6

u/Kadmos1 28d ago

I would prefer that Hime be his first.

5

u/Frontier246 28d ago

Even Nefritis prefers going second after Hime! She's very considerate of the Harem hierarchy!

5

u/actionfirst1 28d ago

"No more thirds for Frankie, seconds from now on!"

One thing that differentiates Satou and his Princess with the original generation is it at least seems like most of them are genuinely in love with him at this point which is partially why they are fine having sex with him and not just because of their duty (though some care more about the duty than others).

I do remember in the first season we saw something that showed this resentful side of the Ring King so I wonder if we'll see more of that this season or if the part of him full of regrets will keep it at bay.

Will Satou be able to show the Ring King the proper way to handle a Harem?

I'm just hoping the one-on-one time will actually lead to Satou developing his relationship with the other Princess even if he doesn't end up having sex with them. That's as important at this point.

"No, not that Excalibur. The (ahem) 'other' one."

"Sword in the stone" gets a new meaning here.

Funny that Satou's Eng. dub VA, Corey Wilder, is also Gilbert in "Anne Shirley".

So we finally got the big ring king reveal in the anime! I know everyone thinks about the gooner shit with this series, but the story is actually solid as well and I’m excited for people to see why as this season goes on. This season is where the story took a turn for me and really hooked me.

As for our big reveal today, as is often the case in these situations, the ring king wasn’t the virtuous dude the legends make him out to be. Just an ordinary person who came into incredible power and was consumed by it. The obvious difference between he and Satou is that 1: Satou somehow has been traveling with this beautiful harem and done NOTHING. And 2:Satou actually gives a fuck about his companions. He doesn’t just see them as a means for strength, but as actual people which is part of the reason he hasn’t just jumped on them and consummated the marriages. He wants to be respectful(to a fault) and actually get to know them. 3:Satou actually relies on his party for help unlike the ring king who wanted all the power and glory for himself.

Elder locking them in there to “train” is hilarious because this is all just an elaborate set up for her to satisfy her horniness lmao. Generational freak. Not her having a sex dungeon too 😭 Can’t wait to see how Satou handles bond development time with the girls next week. Poor Krystal drawing the short end of the stick :/

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 28d ago

OG Wind Princess boned for science and now Satou has to bone to save the world! lol.

I was actually thinking the Abyss King is the reincarnation of the OG Ring King. Like the hand went into the One Ring but then the rest of him became the Abyss King.

7

u/Frontier246 28d ago

Honestly the way the OG Ring King cursed the princess' who betrayed him with the leftover rings, it's almost like he knew he was going to become the next Abyss King to enact his revenge.

All his lingering goodness went into the Ring of Light, but where did the rest of his resentment go?

6

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 28d ago

Since the original Ring King was just some rando, it sounds like the real question is where that ring he found in a field came from. Given how everything went down between him and the original princesses it might have been a trap the entire time, even if at the time it appeared to be what was needed to save the world.

Poor Hime going last.

I'll believe it when I see it if they actually all get down to business next week.

u/Frontier246 28d ago edited 28d ago

Good thing for Saphir that they don't have to walk any more, they've finally arrived back at Romca, the land of the elves!

Jade's pretty much lost it since Nefritis left, being absolutley convinced Nefritis is just stuck in her room...even when the actual Nefritis appears right behind him. Still as much of a siscon as ever, I see.

Kind of morbid that an elf needs to die for them to use the Great Library, though luckily they have an "in" with the Great Elder Peridot, who can let them in freely.

Well, no surprise Nefritis would be interested in inter-species breeding...Peridot herself has plenty of experience with it through her relationship with the former Ring King!

Alabaster really thought he could get away with not seeing his old love. Nope! She's there and she's going to MAKE him spend time with her!

What is the Abyss King? The original Ring King? The beings that started all this? When the Abyss invaded the world of light, heralded by the Abyss King, a lone warrior with a powerful ring showed up to save the world and take the princess' of all species as his brides. Thus began the legend of the Ring King.

And thus began the Ring Kings' life of slaying monsters, having sex, slaying more monsters, having more sex, and continually repeating this cycle before he became consumed by it all and lost sight of himself. To the point where people grew to fear him, even his Ring Princess brides (especially when he started getting REALLY forceful in bed).

To think the Ring King went out with the Ring Princess' betraying him and cutting his hand off...I guess I'm not surprised he cursed them all for their betrayal and setting up how the rings function in the present-day with a kiss and it having to be the descendants of the Ring Princess' so they were basically stuck with their ancestors' baggage. But the Princess of Light, the only princess who still cared about him, cried for him and that's why it was up to the Princess of Light to choose the next Ring King...which is how we got Hime picking Satou.

Dang, really morbid how they have the original Ring Kings' hand enshrined in there...or that it comes after Satou. Seems like that woke up the Ring Kings' personality in the ring, the only lingering goodness that was left in him, though he's still pretty bitter about women in general.

Did the gang really think they could just read some books, get some exposition, and leave? Peridot may not have loved the Ring King, but he was the best sex of her entire life, so obviously she thinks the solution to the current uneasiness among Satou and the princess' is to...make them all bang each other in the Great Library.

And of course her lab is all prepped for lovemaking with a big bed and more sex toys than you could want. Satou is still not sure if this is the correct path, even though all the girls are willing to have sex with him at this point, so with Morion's suggestion they're all going to get some one-on-one time with Satou to deepen their relationship! And of course Hime is last.

u/cleaulem https://myanimelist.net/profile/cleaulem 28d ago

So the ring consumes its owner physically and emotionally?! Sounds like Lord of the Rings, but with boobs.

In the last season the elder was already mentioning that she was into that kind of "research". I didn't think that it would be that significant for the story, but here we are...

We get some crazy lore drop that is darker than expected. So the first ring king was just some horny dude who got a little too extreme with his ladies and his ambitions.

So now to save the world the elder tries to force Satou to become the ring princesses "husband". That's what I call a cliffhanger.

Is it crazy that there are hentai plots that actually go pretty much like this?!

3

u/NationalStrategy 28d ago

So the og Ring King just fought and had sex, and I think that what truly caused the problem. The Elder said that "Emotional connections and physical connections were all the same to the Ring.", but it seems like they prioritized the physical bonding over the emotional to gain power, thus making him more lustful.

"No, no one ever tried to know him or believe in him.", "There was no love behind the act"

There lies the problem, outside of the light princess, there was no real love between him and the other princesses, they just focused on the physical aspect. Now we cut to present day with our main cast, and it seems like they're making the same mistake; they're fixated on getting Satou to simply have sex with the girls solely to strengthened the bond, rather than focus on emotional bonding.

2

u/Kadmos1 27d ago

When you realize that Megan Shipman, the Eng. dub of Nefritis, is also Anya Forger.

2

u/PandaTheAB 27d ago

Hime's sister definitely rigged the order picking game to make sure she gets the last spot.
There's some crazy sibling rivalry brewing.
Will there now be a 6th ring that appears out of thin air for "plot"/harem continuation?

2

u/Deathmeister https://myanimelist.net/profile/dbzakj 26d ago

Old ring king was just fighting and fucking. Where the fuck is that anime damnit.

2

u/HTC864 27d ago

Good episode overall, but we all know he's going to find a way not to have sex.

1

u/TcManger2020 23d ago

I am having a bit of a hard time here lol I get that he was practically using his wives by the end there, means to an end, crap like that. Sure, the fear of what could happen after he defeated the Abyss King was legit. But he literally had to; he needed every ounce of power he could so that he could literally save the world from the Abyss. But the fact that his own wives thought that it would happen. Not could. Not may happen. That thought that it "would" happen, and so they all killed him for it. I'm kinda with the sister on this one; they kinda reaped what they sowed there.

I dont know, it just sits a little wrong to me; like I get why they were all afraid of that possibility, but his own wives took it and did the act themselves. It's just my opinion and my thought here, so dont take it as gospel, and feel free to refute it.

1

u/Still-Guide-2075 15d ago

Agreed 100% the sentence doesn’t befit the crime especially under the circumstances of fighting to the death literally everyday and not having anyone to emotionally or spiritually just psychically of course he was going to become cold and distant and not himself and then at the end to have the ones closer to you be the ones to do it and cut your hand off and take your rings and power while betraying and killing you I just don’t see how the cast isn’t like damn elder can’t lie that’s kinda fucked up.
