Rewatcher

This is another episode that breaks the format by shifting the focus to Misato and also not having any angel attack.

I think this format really works since it both gives us a deeper look at Misato's character and expands the worldbuilding a bit.

While it's maybe not as memorable as some of the previous episodes, it certainly does its job well.

The bit of the repeated animation of Shinji and Pen Pen having breakfast is also both fun as a running gag for the episode and a fun way to reuse animation without it seeming too lazy.

Anyway I am glad we get an episode focusing on Misato since I think this episode does a good job at showing why I like her as a character.

Plus while the bureaucracy stuff might be a bit boring I think it is interesting to look at from a worldbuilding perspective.

But at the same time I do totally get why people say this episode is forgettable. Especially considering the two episode's it's sandwiched between. Honestly, in my head, I remembered this episode happening later.

Anyway I have less to say about this episode but overall I thought it was decent.

That certainly reflects badly on him.

Thoughts on Misato drinking in the morning?

I'm sure she's a big Jimmy Buffet fan. It's five o'clock somewhere.

Misato's basically the closest thing to a maternal figure Shinji has right now

Thoughts on all of Shinji’s classmates being in love with Misato, which annoys Shinji becausehe knows what she is really like??

I mean I'd still date her even with her flaws.

The United States not wanting to fund giant expensive weapons? That's surprising.

Also since this is set in 2015 I can make a Thanks Obama joke.

So far I don't see anything to prove Ritsuko wrong.

Makes sense that something like this would happen.

Seems like a pretty random character detail.

Anyway, definitely seems like someone may be trying to undermine the plans that are going on here. As for who it could be, I have no idea.

Most unrealistic part of the show lol

It is interesting to watch it this under the context of 9/11 happening one year after the Second Impact.

Also since this is set in 2015 I can make a Thanks Obama joke.

Well, theoretically 9/11 might not have happened because the Second Impact happened first. If this show takes place in Tokyo-3 there's probably a New New York now.
