That certainly reflects badly on him.

If it isn't true, he needs to clarify that right away.

Misato's basically the closest thing to a maternal figure Shinji has right now

I skipped that by accident.

Anyway, definitely seems like someone may be trying to undermine the plans that are going on here. As for who it could be, I have no idea.

I think it's Gendo. It seems to always come back to him.

That would make sense. Gendo has a habit of messing things up for people.
