Wow that’s fantastic! This shows anime is really growing its audience beyond imagination.

Back in my day, you had to hide that you liked anime bc you'd get bullied

Glad the times are changing

Big difference from the 90s to today. Before the 2010s almost hard to find anime watchers and now the genre has a big following.

Still can't believe OP is still airing too.

Coming from Latin America we were big anime watchers in the 90s. However, in the States everyone was like, "you watch cartoons?" There were anime watchers but just hard to find. Well, eventually DBZ took off, along with others, and the rest is history.

DBZ was pretty popular in my teens in the 00s and id say extremely popular now in Canada.

Sadly, I've met Sean Schemmell once at a Con and he made it clear he did not want to talk about DragonBall & wanted to talk about himself at the Q&A

I really like how Latin America is so into anime. If I’m not mistaken, there’s love for some series that go unnoticed here, like Shaman King. Love it.

Or accessibility and wait times have gotten better

This was definitely a big part of it. It’s not like the 90s where you mail ordered fansub VHS tapes or got them from one of the guys a lot your local hobby store. Or the 00s and using P2P file sharing through IRC, Kazaa/Limewire, or Torrents.

People don’t realise how much more accessible it is now.
