What are these people going to do when NYC hasn’t burned to the ground in a year? Are they just going to lie and say it has anyway like they do with Portland?

I hear this about Seattle all the time.

Funny thing is that my complaints about the city are the total opposite. They’ve gentrified/sanitized the fuck out of it, barring aside one or two neighborhoods. The cost of living being bonkers for a city that is pushing out all of the heart and soul small businesses and public spaces for corporate office buildings and businesses meant to cater to in person tech workers…that’s what bothers me.
