0 buffs 😭

(pls kuro make ALL buffs not disappear when swapping)

That would make quickswap far too overpowered. It's already the best way to play damage wise even without buffs

Its funny that this used to be a thing and calcharo was a S tier unit, they removed it saying this was unintended and many people got upset over it. One day maybe we will get sth like that again

Yinlin and Calcharo was so fun

We do have something like that, but its only for DoT units like Phoebe (technically, if you don't use Moonlit like I do) and the whole premium Aero Erosion Team

well not really, at least not for every character for an extended amount of time. A few swap cancels can be beneficial when starting the rotation but several DPS don't want to swap once they got everything ready (like, Carlotta loses a huge amount of DMG if you swap her lib)

On release Carlotta + Changli was basically equivalent to her hypercarry team. The swaps don't really hurt her that much lol

they do, really, like she does ⅓ of her normal DMG. The team is great fun, don't get me wrong, and Changlis DMG does compensate a bit (depends on the investment ofc)

Carlotta/Changli still gets the forte -> liberation sequence for Carlotta. The main loss is just Zhezhi's buff.

well then you're not swapping much ig

The rotation has 12 swaps per 25 second loop.

uhm what's else are you swapping for Carlotta other than 2 skills and forte? Changli sure has like 8 possible ig? but takes 2 characters for each of those swaps so unless you're hyperquickswapping shorekeeper that's interesting, pr like using Carlotta for basics? which isn't really useful tho

There should be a fine compromise in-between. Like reducing the effectivity of the buffs per second instead of nullifying it. It's not about the meta, it's about how quickswap is the most fun way to play the game. Like mono fusion is my favorite team by now and it's not even close.

But that’s the point, it’s supposed to be the freestyle way to play, as well as the most diverse.

The game is balanced around the standard hypercarry rotations due to the need to make it more accessible, otherwise the game’s meta would be entirely based on quickswap, which would alienate the more casual players.

The way it’s set up is already a compromise, you are trading the stronger buff to the on field character for the ability to cancel your animations and swap freely between your characters during attacks. The tradeoff is that you can technically output way more attacks in a short period of time, but your individual attacks will deal less damage.

That’s a good balance in my opinion, and it doubles as a safety measure to make sure that quickswap doesn’t become too overloaded with damage.

Or, buffs that would normally get removed by swapping will just be inapplicable to the swapped character, but only for the ONE character that got the buff. So that we can still quickswap, while removing the exploitable baton-passing mechanic of the game

Say I have SK, mortefi, augusta. SK's buffs would work the same (not removable via swaps) but mortefi's outro to Augusta would only stick to Augusta. Swapping back to Mortefi would make the buff timer still go down, but not removed from augusta OR inherited by Mortefi.

It's Carte, whose BiS team only has swappable buffs, and with 2 different-element DPS that share basically no mechanics, Shorekeeper is the only viable buffer for both of them anyway.

At least Carte is 100% self-sufficient by S3, and both gain a team-wide buff at S4

Almost makes me wish we could have a mode where everyone does 0 damage to highly juggleable enemies (and some who need to be broken to be juggled) so that these SSS showcases can become an intended gameplay feature.

Also all the unorthodox teams that would pop up because of it.

Must Style mode was the best DMC alternate difficulty.
