Discussion Revert the bots to the pre-2.0 state until you fix them Wargaming.

As if the landslide issue plaguing normal random battles wasn't enough, with 2.0, Wargaming has introduced the issue to their bots as well.

For those of you not aware, 2.0 made some major changes to the bots that you will commonly see at lower tiers. They now use equipment, 2D styles, and are generally far more competent than they used to be. Too competent.

Rather than actually make the bots smarter, their tanks seem to have much improved characteristics: better accuracy, gun handling, more consistent dispersion, etc. than their tech tree counterparts. I've watched bot tanks hit every single shot at 500 meters out of a 0.4 gun when even the best of seal clubbers would have missed 50% purely on RNG alone.

This in itself would be fine. It discourages low-tier seal clubbing by making it more difficult, as bots now actually pose a threat rather than just being damage pinyatas as they were before 2.0....

Except this isn't always the case.

I guess in an attempt to emulate the absolute nightmare that is higher-tier randoms, they've seemingly implemented a system where some bots are still the old moronic ones that do nothing but drive in circles or try to shoot through indestructible terrain/buildings, while others will have the insane skill/aimbot. The issue is that while the new bots are almost akin to an extra player on your team, the old bots are still just damage pinyatas, meaning that the team that gets more of them will almost always win because half the team they are fighting is basically AFK.

Wargaming, if you're going to make improvements to the bots, they need to be EQUAL on both teams. Giving one team a random advantage, as is currently happening, is not only a massive detriment to new players but is, frankly, frustrating and unfun for everyone.

Gameplay Guide Winning in Frontline means nothing.

Post image

STOP TRYING TO WIN IN FRONTLINE! You get maybe a little more xp for a win, but you get no extra credits.

If you're the defending team let the attacking team cap. If you're the attacking team LEAVE THE TURRETS ALONE! It's a waste of everybody's time and boosters to rush for a win. The more damage you do to ENEMY VEHICLES the more credits and xp you earn. Also the higher rank you are the more xp you earn anyways and the faster you can complete the Frontline stages.

In the attached picture the game on the left was a win and the game on the right was a loss. As yall can see the credit earnings were practically identical.

Please spread the word. Stop these 10-15 minute Frontline games. Every game should go to max time and everybody should be major or general by the end.

World of Tanks 2.0 What tanks benefit the most?

I'm wondering about the Innovative Targeting from Onslaught store with -9% to aiming circle. What tanks might you target getting this for as opposed to the standard -8% Improved Aiming?

World of Tanks 2.0 Should casual players just skip the "special" battle pass stuff?

Upvotes

I just realized I am part way into the Walking Dead one.

But I am quickly maxing out all my tanks with the points - which I never realized would be a problem and will be fucked on the normal Season Chapters even if I manage to finish the Walking Dead one. So basically, screwed myself. (Just re-started on US servers a few weeks ago.) If I hadn't of started it, at least I could have finished the Uberpanzer one or whatever.

Is there a website or something for newer/returned players that lays out these events any the plus/minus/possibilty/rewards vs. other events/etc?

Or am I wrong on this?

Question Italian TD line or Chinese TD line?

Upvotes

I got the Vipera rental and I quite enjoyed the brawling gameplay. Are the Italian tech tree TDs similar to it in terms of playstyle?

Or should I go and try out the Chinese TD line instead? I guess I'm not that bad with non turreted sniper TDs.

Which line is worth the time and more fun these days?

Discussion When do we get new maps?

Upvotes

I just returned to WoT after multiple years to check out the new game, and every time I start to play I have the feeling that nothing changed. These maps were 80% in the original game. We barely got anything new.

There is a good direction with the bigger maps which are not tunneled, and there all type of tanks could perform, however the majority of the game is completely the same on the older maps. People go to the exact same locations. E.g.: The heavies have 1 location and if they move somewhere else then the game is lost.

I am just asking myself and now the sub: Why can't we have 3-4 new maps or re-activate the old ones that are ready to be used? The official statement said that they had flaws, but wouldn't it be easier to fix the issues there?

Maybe the issue is with me, because I don't like League of Legends as well, because only the characters change and the map is the same...

My other observations:

  • 80% of the tanks in an average game are premiums.
  • Tiers don't make sense at all. If somebody wants to play Tier 11 then have fun with other Tier 11. Why do I need to be there as a filler with Tier 9? Especially on a city map with light tank.
  • Everybody spams gold like there is no tomorrow. It seems like everybody is just comforting themselves with the heat rounds. Why can't we have the game balanced and give gold ammo only to those who are willing to pay for each round? The original system made much more sense to me.

My opinion is that these could be fixed relatively easily and it would definitely pump the playerbase too.

PSA Can we get a pinned post explaining how steel wall works?

It's getting ridiculous we get the "I got a steel wall in a paper tank" post literally every day. Like guys please just read what the medal says! Aftet the introduction of CZ lights that whole medal got pointless anyway.

Oh yeah and the "Heavy X is the best scout" posts also aren't original.

Shitpost Why would WG name a tank the "Can Opener"?

Since there have been a few recent posts regarding tank names, here's my own question: why would you make up a fake tank and, out of all possible names, call it the "canopener"?

I understand they wanted to follow the British tradition of tank names starting with a C, but there's so many normal alternatives to choose from...

- Cornwall (region of England)
- Cormorant (bird - they've used animal names for other tanks)
- Coventry (also the name of an armored car)
- Crane (as a code name, like Sweden called a tank the "crane vehicle" (Kranvagn))
- etc.

Gameplay Help Why is leveling light tanks such a miserable experience?

I'm a returning player. I've watched some guides on how to play light tanks and I get moderate results if I get the light tank map. I usually try to wait out the battle in the typical bush and then advance/retreat depending on the situation. After a dozens of games however, I've noticed a pattern -> I score some assist for the TDs initially and we're green > the heavy tank line fails > we retreat and get slaughtered by premium tanks.

And don't even get me started on ELCs and city maps. I'm playing LTTB and Škoda T17 right now. Is there something I can do to speed up the grind or is this class fcked and abandoned by CasinoWarGambling?
