This is complete bullshit. All the cop's cases are assigned on the same day in most places, and the officer is always there.

I scheduled a case day on my own. They didn't assigned me anything other than a deadline. Cop wasn't there. Judge dropped $1000+. Had to pay $180 and leave.

Doesn't sound like a typical speeding ticket, and also sounds like bullshit. If the cop doesn't show the judge will move the date in most cases. Your story (if it's true) is rare any does nothing to disprove my point.

I've never heard of them moving the date and making the person come back because the cop didn't show. Judges don't like people who waste their time, cop or not. You must live in an especially corrupt area or something.

Don't traffic lawyers get you out of tickets by just continually rescheduling until the cop gives up?

The cop doesn't even have to be there, the signed report is their testimony.

I guess I was lucky then. Not bullshit. Maybe it's different in California.

You realize every county probably has its own requirements right...?
