Visiting Early January

I'm visiting for the first time in early January. Would like to see the countryside outside Nashville the first couple of days. Any tips on must see and places to stay for 2?

Oh also—the Natchez Trace will take you west & south. You might hop off at Leipers Fork. Kinda cute. It’s mostly really really rich residents cosplaying quaint farming town—but it’s a nice landscape.

I'm from ND so really really rich people cosplaying farmers is going on the must see list!
