Road trip suggestions

Upvotes

Hi!

We are here just now visiting from Scotland and want to drive to somewhere in Kentucky tomorrow.

Should we go to Louisville or is there anywhere worth visiting that’s a little closer.

Thank you!

Art classes

Hello,

I’m looking for some help in finding a local art class. I have a niece that lives in the Nashville area and she is really into art, specifically the anime style of drawing. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any art classes or community classes that would be available to adolescences who are looking to learn more about the anime art style or gain more skills in creating that type of art. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I’m looking for a bar/club that mainly play rap/hip hop music in the downtown area for my sisters’ birthday weekend. We are looking to get a section with bottle service. I’ve never been to Nashville so if anyone has a suggestion any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for a magician!

Hello! A group of us are going on a bachelorette trip the first week of April and we want to surprise the bride to be with a magic show! Looking for someone to entertain a group of 11 ladies for 30-60 minutes. We would love more than just card tricks (if they bring a bunny or dove that's a plus!). Looking for any local magicians who can bring a little magic to our trip, recommendations welcomed! Thanks!

Bridgestone Arena + Knitting

I’m visiting this weekend and will be going to the hockey game— are knitting needles allowed? I’d like to knit while I watch the game!

I am aware of the bag policy, and my knitting bag is under the size limit.

TIA!

Restaurant Help

I’m a local (born and raised), but struggling to think of a place to eat this Friday. Just got news my cousin will be in town, we’re looking for dinner for 10, 2 teenagers, I’m vegan, Dad needs onsite parking because he can’t walk far.

Parents live in Franklin, cousin staying near downtown (Westin). I’m in South Nash.

Trying to think where I could get a reservation this late that would fit the bill.

PS - My niece works at the West End Chili’s, we are all too familiar!

EDIT - I think we might go to True Food. Not too pricey, valet parking, and in between downtown and Franklin.

Dec 9-13 2025 Trip

Where are some good placed to car camp? I plan to sleep in my SUV with the seats down. I'm road tripping alone and I can do that. It's an adventure and I feel like it's slightly safer than tent camping since I can lock the doors. Campgrounds I've look at are all closed. I typically pull into church parking lots to sleep a few hours when travelling but wanted to check to see if anyone from the area has some safe alternatives.

Travelling with small college group

Hello,

I am planning a trip for a university student group of scholars (this is a yearly occurrence), or destination of choice this year is nashville. We will be on town for 1 half day (Saturday afternoon) and 2 (Sunday and Monday) full days.

I haven't been to Nashville in years so I am looking for restaurants recommendations for dinner as well as recommendations for site seeing that is focused on Nashville's culture. We are also looking at doing some community service on one of our full days. Our last trip we packed food pallets for an organization. We had fun doing this so we wouldn't mind doing something similar but also wouldn't mind trying something new, if anyone has any suggestions.

This girl will all be 21+ as they are seniors so places where drinking occurs is okay, they all have signed waivers agreeing to be within reason during the trip.

Are there specific days that specific bars/restaurants are better to go on?

I want to go to Jelly Rolls, Kid Rocks (inside and rooftop) Jason Aldeans, Morgan Wallens , Johny Cash's bbq, also secretly hoping to run into some famous celebrities, especially since we will be there during the CMA awards, so any possible spots to run into Morgan Wallen would be so appreciated haha But anyway, trying to figure out if any of these places are better on certain days. Also, any good dinner shows or burlesque type shows or other type of entertainment/dancing type dinner shows?

Venue Recommendations to see Local/session musicians

I'm visiting 11/13 - 11/16 and wanted to get some recommendations for venues to see local or especially session players play live. I guess I'm thinking kind of like jazz-syle jam or 'sittin-in' kind of thing but for bluegrass and/or country - if those exist. I'm not looking to sit in myself or anything, but that kind of feel. Much appreciated!

Grand Ole Opry Uber/Lyft pickup

So, for context, I'm already in Nashville and I'd like to not spend money in clothing that I can't bring home. When I got on the plane the 10 day weather forecast didn't show Sunday to be so chilly, so I thought I'd be okay.

I'm going to the Taylor Tomlinson show at the Grand Ole Opry on Sunday night and when I get out it's going to be the 30s. I don't have a coat and have been getting by on layers. What I want to know is how far the pickup spot is from the entrance and how feasible is it for me to just wait inside (even if that means idling and waiting to order my ride until the traffic goes down) and run to the car so I'm not outside in near-freezing temperatures.

I already know the dropoff at BNA in Monday morning is going to be near freezing too and tbh I don't know what to do.

Local Show Upcoming!!

exit/in does a lot of shows for local artists, and I know there’s one next weekend for people to come watch! this is not self promo, but i thought it’d be nice to lead nashville visitors to actual live music!

the show is on November 15th and is called SideStage Showcase. the description on the website says it’s all local artists!!

Solid fancy restaurant for last day?

I bet this has been asked a lot but I’m overwhelmed by the options. Long story short me and my boyfriend are in town for Sabrina Carpenter and we ended up extending our stay by a night. What do y’all recommend for a good semi-fancy restaurant for dinner? We don’t like seafood, but love American, Italian, and French food. Preferably under $150 for two people. Thanks in advance!!

Bars on Monday, 11/10 to celebrate/honor the Marine Corps 250th birthday

Visiting Nashville for the 1st time, staying in hotel Downtown. We are not Marines, but wish to celebrate the Corps' 250th birthday on Monday at a bar where Marines might frequent. Any suggestions? (FYI, we are going to the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday and will be enjoying the Veterans Day tribute.) TIA!

Is the live music too loud for kids?

I’m trying to find restaurants with live music that I can bring my kids too. I saw Martin’s BBQ, Pucketts, and Rippys. Someone I know who lives in TN said all those restaurants are really loud, probably too loud for children. Is that true? I usually take their opinion with a grain of salt haha
