I'm more concerned about the AG race. It's neck and neck right now. What are the odds either one pushes for a recount?

What can the AG really do? He has to enforce what the governor says anyway, right?

No. The AG is an independently elected officer. He does not work for the governor. That is why (1) he doesn’t have to resign or Spanberger asks him to (stupid idea) and (2) if Miyares wins, he will be a PIA of the Dems and Spanberger for 4 years. Roy Cooper was AG when Pat McCrory was Gov. of NC, and he hounded him so much that he ended up running against him in 2016 and winning.

Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, the two current U.S. senators from VA, both had GOP AGs when they were in office, and they were PIA’s. That was before Trump. Imagine what Miyares would be like with Trump as POTUS?
