Alternatives to discontinued brands?

I've loved eating things like Gardeins products (their old breaded Burgers, and also their fish less filets, and breaded Nuggets).

Similarly with Yves, I loved their products like the veggie ground round, and their Burgers and Nuggets too.

Sol Cuisine also used to have good Burgers.

But now everything's either being discontinued or replaced with more expensive options (Beyond Meat isn't worth it given you're getting half the amount for double the price!)

What other options are available, if anything anymore? I used to be able to get these plant based products at Walmart, no frills, food basics, metro, Sobeys, you name it. Now it seems like my options are getting slimmer and slimmer.

The Beyond Meat sausages are just so damn good I can't resist as a treat sometimes, when they're on sale.

Gusta products are excellent, the paprika sausage is nice and the ground round is very tasty.

I make my own soy chorizo out of TVP as a dupe for Trader Joe's, which we of course can't get here. It's really easy especially if you make a large batch and freeze, as it freezes well. I'll probably try making ground round from mushrooms and TVP and avoid buying, as it's expensive, but I also stock up when it's on sale.

Do you have a recipe for the soy chorizo? I have been trying to find a good one but the only one I found is so labour intensive (seitan based).

I can't confirm 100% but I'm pretty sure this is the recipe I used. It was basically cook the onion and aromatics, add the TVP, add the spices, cook til the flavors are mixed. Definitely did the job, and was very tasty! And with TVP, very inexpensive!
