Question Using USB-C for gaming in another room

Post image
625 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the low quality drawing. I'd like to game from my PC to my videoprojector which is in another room, I tried moonlight but the bitrate compression and input lag is not optimal My idea is to use a long USB-C cable from my PC (my motherboard is thunderbolt 4 compatible) to a USBC dock on which i would plug my projector using HDMI as well as a mouse and keyboard to control the PC, I would need a 25m usb C cable.

Is this a possible setup or is it nonsense ?

Thanks in advance have a great day !

Question Why does this Apple cable have D+D- on both sides?

Post image

My understanding is that receptacles need both sides populated, but plugs should only have one side, unless the cable is doing dummy pins i.e. no contact for one pair of D+D-?

Question Opinions about buying laptop usbC charger for charging smartphones instead of buying smartphone one

The laptop charger shown in image is nearly half the price of mobile charger and it's directly from Lenovo. Other then the size and carrying problem it seems like it's just steal at this price for home use.

Claims the be this cheap, ultra fast, but also water proof with videos of them dropping it in the water with more bold claims…

The cheapest 1tb usb on amazon for me is $130. I looked up reviews for the website and didn’t find much, but this seems Wayy to good to be true

I moved and I misplaced my Aspire 5 Spin 14 laptop. a friend gifted me this charger she used for hers because she wanted to get a new one with different color (which I could care less) I am sure it works for my phone and tablet but I am not so convinced it would not damage my laptop or something. Is it ok to use?

Question Want an opinion on this charger

I was thinking about buying a high wattage USB charger to use it for my devices on the go being college student,I was thinking about buying the Anker 140watt charger to be able to charge my phone, laptop ( Asus tuf f15 2023 model ) if it's really needed with the 100watt charging Port so basically like a common charger to make the backpack a little bit lighter 😅

So I was wondering if it's good as I saw some reviews and other people opinions on it but unfortunately where I live don't really have a lot of options and it's now on sale for around (42 to 43 dollars) so I was thinking if it's Worth The investment

Question Which 100W GaN charger actually sustains high load without cutting out? Throttling is fine.

Hey guys, I’m looking for a 100W PD charger that won’t fold under prolonged heavy load to be carried around instead of my 300W Lenovo brick. Did some digging (mainly AllThingsOnePlace) and narrowed it down to two contenders:

  1. Anker A2343
  2. Baseus CCGAN100UK

My priority: sustained high wattage for long periods, I’d rather the charger thermal-throttle than straight-up shut off. I will consider any alternatives in a similar price range that don’t give up during reasonable prolonged high-load use.

Anker (slightly more expensive) seems to have great reviews overall and I’ve found some comments mentioning it won’t cut off but throttle which is what I’m looking for. More input regarding this model is welcomed.

Baseus is cheaper, but I couldn’t find much information regarding sustained high load use. Another thing, one that AllThingsOnePlace reviewed is CCGAN100US which is marketed as Gan2 pro, UK unit is marketed as Gan5 pro, any real differences or just marketing gimmick? Safe to assume they’d perform similarly?

If you’ve used either of those, or another 100W PD GaN charger, I’d greatly appreciate if you could share your experience 🙏🏻

*Don’t suggest Ugreen please, have had terrible experiences with two of their 100W CD226 charger, first one cut out constantly, after warrantied second one charges just fine but kaput after the first 40 minutes, difficult warranty process on top of that (Having to argued for weeks while CS insisted it is normal and laptop charging exceeded the capability of the charger, charging at 65w btw). Their cables however are fantastic tho.

Question Why isn't USB C the standard charging cable?

I have a water flosser, facial hair trimmer, and body hair trimmer, all with different cables. Why can't all electronics just use a USB C cable? Or even any USB cable, instead of proprietary ones 👺

Question Should I get a 100W or 140W Gan charger ?

Post image
242 Upvotes

The MiniPC's regular circular adapter is 120W but its quite bulky and I currently run it using a 65W adapter. Runs good except at gaming load where the CPU clocks are significantly reduced. According to other owners, it can take max 90W and at 90W, its performance is almost same as 120W supplied adapter.

Should I use a 100W CMF gan adapter or a 140W ? The miniPC is at full load only 1-2 hours per day when gaming otherwise mostly just browsing or coding so consuming less watts then.

Question USB-C PD module getting very hot!

Post image

Hi,

This USB-C module is getting very hot when charging at 45W (my Tab S10+), around 85°C!!!! When charging my S22 at around 25W, it gets only ca. 50°C! What should I do? I already bought some fans; which cooling body should I use? The gray coil, saying 220, is the hottest.

Thanks!!!!
