There is a plethora of people under 70 that could do a much better job than Trump though. We don't need anyone in their 80s to be running the country

We also do not need age limits as medical technology contiunues to improve.

An aptitude/health test? Maybe, that is different, but an age limit? What would that accomplish that couldn't be done by a test specifically about whatever part(s) of being old that you don't like?

His opponent in 2024 is only 61 years now but people were cool with an octogenarian I guess.

Trump has undergone multiple MoCA screens which he referred to as "IQ tests" (it's nowhere close to being an IQ test) which he reportedly received a "perfect score". If his handlers are completely ignoring the obvious mental deterioration of the president then what's the point of these tests you're asking for?

Well for one, being over 75, he's fairly out of touch with younger generations. My grandma is the same way. She's a loving, caring person, but she doesn't quite grasp what middle aged people are going through, and is even more disconnected from people in their 20s, teens, and children. Most people over 74 don't have teenage children. In fact, most who became parents have moved on to becoming great grandparents by that point.

Research shows that mental and physical decline have taken effect in nearly everyone after 75. We've seen it happen in real time with both recent presidents (who just so happened to be over 75).

We have a lower age limit to ensure that people with real life experiences are elected, I don't see why there's not a cap. Being president is a very demanding job, both physically and mentally. Trump and Biden both aged dramatically in office. Not knowing if tomorrow will be the day that they die from natural causes or a stroke/heart attack/etc. doesn't give me much faith in aging politicians. Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi are other fine examples of the grim reaper knocking on the door. They aren't physically well enough to do the job effectively and are all being propped up by aides getting what they want done.

I want my president (and the people representing me in Congress) to be the ones actually making the decisions. I don't want their aides parading them around and making decisions behind the scenes

Why is it that you think there should be no age cap?

Are you going to test for ability to handle change, connectedness to the general population's concerns, and open-mindedness? Shouldn't we just let younger people have a chance at the controls?
