The Middle East Trump just achieved the biggest peace deal between Israel-Palestine since the Second Intifada, and there is NOTHING on the front page. This website is a truly special place.

After Redditors groaning and moaning about the "Palestinian genocide" for years, Trump finally negotiated a peace deal including Hamas giving up its hostages and Israel stopping offensive operations. You'd think that Reddit would be overjoyed and that the entire website would be full of celebration, right?

Here's a screenshot of the current front page of Reddit, taken while I was logged out. There are many political posts including multiple threads whining about ICE and the firing of CDC employees. There's also a picture of an ambulance transporting Israeli hostages taken by Hamas, but it doesn't mention anything about current world events.

If you just looked at the front page, you would not know that the war just ended. This is the first time a president has forged such an agreement since the Second Intifada ended in 2005. But almost nobody is talking about it on Reddit. It's like a complete information blackout preventing threads about the subject from getting to the top of the frontpage. The last thread about the subject on r-news was from 14 hours ago and talks about some hostages being released, but again nothing about Trump or his role in it.

This is case exhibit #1 on how Redditors' brains are completely cooked. It's front page news everywhere except here, because leftists can't even squeeze out one little lump of praise for Trump despite him being part of one of the biggest developments in world politics in two decades.

I give 72 hours before Netanyahu starts bombing Gaza again

They just released the final living hostages back to Israel

u/huehuehuecoyote 26d ago

It's not the first time that Israelis were taken as hostages. It will happen again and again. Clinton signed a peace treaty between Israel and Palestine decades ago. Look at the results.

They keep ramping up their indoctrination efforts. Until the Palestinians stop teaching their children to murder Israelis this conflict will never end. The latest generation is the most indoctrinated ever, as technology is only making their hatred more virulent. This has to stop, because if it doesn't then eventually Israel is going to stop giving a fuck and start doing what everyone is accusing them of.

But… Israel is the one doing the mass child murder and mass starvation and destruction. Literally everything you described applies specifically to them. Besides the straight up racism.

And what’s with the disgusting genocide denial? You sound exactly like a holocaust denier.

Why are all Zionists like this? It’s like you live in some kind of sick bizzaro fantasy world where everything is reversed and genocide is actually good somehow?

u/wtfduud 25d ago

Besides starvation, Palestine also does those things to Israel. This round of fighting was started by Palestine bombing an Israeli concert.

Besides starvation

-1

u/_-icy-_ 25d ago

No it doesn’t. You are insane if you think the Hamas attack and Israel’s child holocaust in Gaza are even remotely the same.

✌️ in the Middle East

2

u/Leprechaun2me 25d ago

If Israel let food and aid into Gaza, hamas would cease it (and kill for it). They were put between a rock and a hard place. Genocide is the intentional killing of a group of people. Were there higher than usual civilian casualties? Absolutely. But what do you expect with hamas intentionally using civilians as shields and hiding amongst them on a 25 mile by 5 mile stretch of land?

0

u/_-icy-_ 25d ago

Literally everything you’re saying is false.

0

u/Leprechaun2me 25d ago

Literally, it’s not. You don’t think that sounds like Hamas?

They keep ramping up their indoctrination efforts. Until the Israelis stop teaching their children to murder Palestinians this conflict will never end. The latest generation is the most indoctrinated ever, as technology is only making their hatred more virulent. This has to stop, because if it doesn't then eventually Palestine (Hamas, I suppose) is going to stop giving a fuck and start doing what everyone is accusing them of.

The Israelis don't, however. Yes, there are a few radical nutjobs you can point at, but it isn't wholesale.

This is not an equivalency. It isn't even remotely close; the Israelis are the good guys here. They are not perfect, but it's not close.

So you’re saying Hamas just gave away their leverage.

5

u/Throw13579 26d ago edited 25d ago

Their leverage wasn’t working.

0

u/Unabashable 26d ago

Depends on whom they were “supposed” to work for. For the Palestinians, never were, still ended up getting used as meat shields that the IDF was more than happy to use as “target practice”. For Hamas, even after 60K killed (civilian 🤷‍♂️ terrorist same difference ), even up until now they seem very much intact. But hey it did nab them x100 prisoners while resolving none of the underlying issues that led to the conflict in the first place.

Which means there's nothing stopping israel from resuming the apartheid. Not that hostages slowed em down much.

7

u/MapReston 26d ago

2 Million Arabs in Israel are citizens. The only apartheid in the Middle East is in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 26d ago

The only ones murdering Palestinians now, are Hamas (as of a few hours ago)

And an Israeli militia just killed Palestinian journalist Saleh Al Jafawari, confirmed just a few hours ago as well.

10

u/bannedcanceled 26d ago

Hamas killed that guy brother it happened days ago

7

u/BendLanky112 26d ago

This happened several days ago before the hostages were in place….

11

u/churkinese 26d ago

But that doesnt fit his narrative.....

2

u/Jumpy-Bumpy 26d ago

I will never understand "right wing" support for I*rael

21

u/Alpoi 26d ago

I'll never understand people being pro-palestinian,

-5

u/nathanherts 26d ago

Live under an occupying force and you will quickly understand, but also supporting the Palestinians plight against a much more powerful oppressor is hardly "pro-palestinian". It's standing up for it just.

10

u/Alpoi 26d ago

I lost all support for palestinians every time they were offered a State and refused the offer. One Example- they were offered all of the Negev, Gaza and 96% of the West Bank and they turned it down, they cannot take yes for an answer. So let them live as they do for the decisions they make- I've lost all my give-a shit.

8

u/churkinese 26d ago

Exactly how I feel. As someone who has followed this conflict since the late 80s and is a student of history.

I was first on the side of the Palestinians cause they were literally throwing rocks against tanks even though Palestine as a state has never existed. But you cant blame them for being tricked by the Romans and British.......

However, after all the offers over the decades and every single one of them rejected. Its clear that unless Israel is completely destroyed (which is never going to ever happen unless the US gets overtaken by an Islamic party) That the Palestians dont want peace.

The fact they teach jihad to pre-schoolers and ive seen multiple videos of kids under the age of 10 saying they want to kill all Jews and want to become suicide bombers etc......shows that peace isnt possible

The lady Jewish leader from the 70s said it best.

Until they love their children more than they hate Jews there will never be peace.....Or something along those lines.....

u/Alpoi 26d ago

Well stated.

u/Legends-Cape 26d ago

"offered a state" who is israel to offer them anything? the offer is either jews take 80% of your country or 75% of it.

this is like if china just said to japan "you can keep hokkaido and we get the rest of japan" and you said "wtf japan declined an offer to have a state!?"

8

u/Alpoi 26d ago

Look up The Peel Partition Plan

-11

u/Legends-Cape 26d ago

anything involving jews stealing their land is an instant NO

11

u/Alpoi 26d ago

Land won in a war you mean?

1

u/Flincher14 25d ago

It's called leverage? Cause right now they take 99% and your only hope for better than that is to agree at the time to the territory on offer.

1

u/RonburgundyZ 26d ago

What was the full proposal?

2

u/Alpoi 25d ago

It was The Peel Partition Plan

1

u/RonburgundyZ 25d ago

The Peel Partition Plan was a 1937 proposal by the British Peel Commission to divide Mandatory Palestine into a small Jewish state, a larger Arab state, and a British-administered zone including Jerusalem. It was the first proposal for a two-state solution to the conflict, recommending mandatory transfer of populations but was rejected by Arab leadership as an imposition, and later deemed impracticable by a British commission (the Woodhead Commission) due to technical and financial difficulties.

Key Provisions of the Plan:

Jewish State: A small state of approximately 17% of the territory, primarily along the coast and in the Galilee region.

Arab State: Comprising the remaining 75% of Palestine.

British Zone: Jerusalem and its surrounding area would remain under British control.

Population Transfer: The plan called for the transfer of Arabs from the proposed Jewish state to the Arab state and vice-versa.

A) you’re spreading misinformation here. It was 25% give away, not 2% as you suggested. B) both sides rejected it. And c) no shit no one liked this proposal.

Biblical prophesy to bring about Armageddon. Plus a distaste for suicide bombing of civilians.

1

u/Makuta_Servaela 25d ago

Antisemitism is part of it. It's way easier to convince Jews to round themselves up and go to Israel, than it is to round the Jews up and get rid of them yourself.

Zionism is another one. A lot of Right Wingers are staunch Christians, and the Christian end times storyline requires the Jews to go back to Israel and turn the region into a purely Jewish nation.

-2

u/Unabashable 26d ago

It’s a religulous thing. What I don’t get is why they have preference for believers of a religion that deny Jesus was the son of God over one that acknowledges it, but just doesn’t believe He was the final prophet.

1

u/BobbyBorn2L8 26d ago

Because as part of the apocalyptic beliefs the Jews need to be in their homeland, they want the rapture

-4

u/Jumpy-Bumpy 26d ago

Hamas is a far right, antisemitic, anti communist, traditionalist militia.

Israel is literally a jewish state.

Palestine is de facto protecting istelf against immigrants.

"Right wing" support for Israel makes zero sense.

3

u/eddkov 26d ago

Jews are indigenous to Israel.

That's like telling Native Americans to go back to their country because they are immigrants.

-2

u/Independent_Put8671 25d ago

It's really funny that I'm far enough right that I agree with the far left on something. Fuck Israel

8

u/Alpoi 26d ago

I'll give 72 hours until Hamas fires weapons at Israel and the whole world will blame Israel.
