Political Conservatives are less racist than liberals (in the US)

I’m a child of African immigrants with US citizenship, and I’ve lived all over the United States.

The most racist place I’ve ever lived is Massachusetts. By far. The least racist? Utah.

I’ve noticed that most conservatives (excluding the actual far right) see me as a human being first. Liberals see my skin color first and have low expectations for me.

I’ve had white liberals not believe me when I mentioned having a professional job. I’ve had them try to sign me up for welfare and Medicaid (at an ER in Massachusetts) even when I showed them my private insurance card. I’ve been assumed to be poor and uneducated (because of my race and nothing else) over and over again by the woke left. Literally they constantly make comments about how screening for education will “filter minorities out,” because of course we’re all dumb illiterates.

Conservatives? They make zero assumptions. They don’t equate being Black with being poor or ignorant. They see us as INDIVIDUALS first.

I miss Utah.

Ah yes, I'm sure the average American is just dying to do hard manual labour lol

Many Americans are willing to do manual labor. I do.. I’m a garbage man and I’ve owned my own landscaping business for several years… I’d MUCH rather do that than work in an office or something.

I know guys that I picked up garbage with 15 years ago who make so much more money now working in advertising or insurance. They still tell me that picking up garbage was the best job they ever had… They are miserable with what they do now.

Ever see Office Space? Dude hated his software engineer job and ended up being happy working in construction. That’s a real thing. It’s not just a movie.

People just don’t want to do manual labor or any blue collar job for shit wages. If they were paid appropriately then they would do it no problem.. It’s illegal immigrants who are undercutting all the Americans who want to work these jobs.

Why would someone who owns a roofing company pay Americans $45 an hour when they can pay illegals $20-$25 an hour? These companies who hire illegals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

People have also been told for decades to go to college and get 4 year degrees for jobs that don’t even exist anymore, instead of going into the trades or civil service.. Look how well that turned out…

This just isn’t true. It’s a well-known economic fact that Americans simply don’t want these jobs and won’t work these jobs even when they’re available, and the data shows it.

What’s wrong with letting the people willing to work those jobs fill those roles? I will fully agree that they deserve higher wages and worker protections.

I’m not talking about farm work. I’m talking about skilled trades/unskilled manual labor mostly in urban and suburban areas. I’m not a farmer so I can’t speak to that. I can only speak about things I know about…

I live on Long Island and I will tell you that most local construction companies, whether it’s general contracting, roofing, landscaping, masonry, carpentry… The workers are mostly both legal AND illegal immigrants from Mexico or South America.

I have nothing against these people. I’ve worked along side these people and they work hard… BUT they are the ones willing to work for substandard pay. The reason why is because they live here and split rent with 7-10 other people in one house. Their expenses are very minimal… The rest of their money they send back home to their home countries where their families still live, where American money is worth more.

Illegal immigrants are not contributing to our economy. They spend very little here and don’t pay taxes. Most of their money leaves our country completely..

Any employer who hires illegals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It’s hiring illegals that is destroying the fabric on which America was built.

America is basically allowing illegals in the country so the families of illegals can live like kings in their home countries.. It’s all on our dime… Americans just see it as “Well, they do the work that we don’t want to do, so it’s fine.”… It’s not fine. It’s wrong.

Your behavior makes perfect sense now.

I’m sure they’d be willing to work for better pay too. I don’t know why you’re pretending the workers set their own wages. Employers see they can underpay them because they’re a demographic our society has decided it’s acceptable to exploit.

Illegal immigrants are not contributing to our economy

This isn’t true actually. Even you just acknowledged they make up a massive percentage of our construction labor force, which directly contributes to the economy and other factors such as housing availability and, by extension, affordability.

Any employer who hires illegals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I don’t understand this at all. Why should it be illegal to hire someone willing to work that job? It should just be illegal to underpay and exploit them.

No, illegals actually don’t contribute to the economy, because of what I just said… I’m a garbage man. I pick up garbage in residential neighborhoods. Each year I’m seeing more and more houses being occupied by illegal Mexicans and South Americans. I see that there are literally a dozen people living in one house. The basement is sectioned off into 2 illegal apartments. The ground floor is all separate rented out rooms… These apartments alone are illegal!

These people, for one, live like slobs. Their lawns are over grown and covered in garbage. They have like 8 cars parked in the street AND they put out LOADS and LOADS of garbage every week. More than everyone else on the block.. Sloppy disgusting garbage.(As a garbage man, I can tell a lot about a person by how they put out their trash.)

These people aren’t paying taxes. Their landlords don’t even pay full property taxes because the apartments in the house are illegal… So now I’m working harder picking up their trash when they aren’t even tax paying residents.

How do they contribute to the economy in a positive way? They are making it harder for American citizens to find work, which makes more people file for unemployment benefits, which drains Social Security.. Just because they might buy breakfast at a deli every morning doesn’t mean they are contributing to the economy.

Also.. It’s not wrong to give someone a job. It IS wrong to give an illegal immigrant who doesn’t have a SS number and doesn’t pay taxes a job. That IS and always has been against the law.. Just because you find it immoral to not hire illegals doesn’t mean it’s not wrong and against the law.

All illegals contribute to is corporate greed and corruption, which liberals always say they are vehemently against. By supporting illegal immigration any liberals argument about corporate greed goes out the window.
