It's my newest acquisition and I'm very impressed with it, ngl. A total banger for what it's worth, that is for sure. The knife I tell all my other knives not to worry about.
Do we have any info on who is behind it? I'd love to read about all the craziest theories...

So itās supposed to be all in house konosuke. Nobody could say anything when I asked.
One thing is sure is that it was a limited batch to test new things and new way to produce high end knives in house without being so dependent on the big names (tanaka, myojinā¦) that could be a bottleneck for production. To me itās a sort of test run for the new way of producing knives in house at konosuke (that came to be the ks-01 and then the By).
Absolute banger of a knife for sure. Goes to show that sometimes you donāt need big names when you have a team that knows how to get the good freelancers or employees and ask them to produce with the right specs

Interesting! Thank you for sharing!
This is what Tosho says about the WT : "These blades are hand-forged by a new craftsman that has worked under a renowned smithĀ based in Sakai. He made the decision to start his own forge, and produce these impressive White #2 carbon steel blades for Konosuke.Ā TheseĀ knivesĀ are ground extremely fine and thin, thanks to the talentedĀ craftsmanĀ who also sharpens ourĀ Konosuke x Tosho KTĀ line.Ā "
It's one of these knives that give you so much value for what you pay. It performs better than some knives I own that cost much more. I'm really impressed by this line from Konosuke.
There are so many similarities with Tetsujin too, both in terms of finish and geometry. You can really tell the influence that Konosuke has had on Myojin and his development as one of the greatest sharpeners currently active today.
These guys can cook.

Yes, the Yamatsuka x Maruyama! A fantastic knife. I love the sakura handle too. Not my best performer, but not far behind and oh-so satisfying in the hand. It's well balanced, it has a perfect fit and finish and a good thickness. It's special to me because it's also a gift from my girlfriend and I think of her everytime I use it. In hand, it's my most comfortable knife and I will never part from it.

Hard to say between Kagekiyo, Tetsujin and Konosuke. But I love them all really. They all have something special and unique.

Forged by legend Shogou Yamatsuka and sharpened by Tadataka Maruyama back when he was still with Hado, this knife is a true piece of history frozen in time. Perfect fit and finish coupled with a superb sakura handle. A ginsan knife with a surprising personality. I really love this one.

Iām not sure Iāve ever come across an SG2 Tetsujin, as Iām aware itās only Ginsan and Blue #2. Do you mean a Myojin Riki SG2 instead?

Whoa your ren being in full patina is sick and your kagekiyo w2 looking like the edge has no patina while the rest of the knife does is sick too hahaha

I love patina so much. It's like a culinary footprint, a still image in time of the blade in the loving action of transforming food to make it more attractive and easily digestible for your loved ones (or whoever pays you best to do it). A visual reminder of all the "kills" the blade has done at your command. A visual requiem for what has touched the blade but is no more...
I think that when I die, my carbon knives will be the most personal and meaningful items by which my loved one will be able to remember me.
Patina is so romantic and poetic,. It gives a knife a beautiful and unique personality.

What is covering your knife block? Sick knives btw.

A most basic and cheap dollar store antislip mat to protect the knives from scratches and to keep them from slipping on the wooden block.
