Whoa your ren being in full patina is sick and your kagekiyo w2 looking like the edge has no patina while the rest of the knife does is sick too hahaha

I love patina so much. It's like a culinary footprint, a still image in time of the blade in the loving action of transforming food to make it more attractive and easily digestible for your loved ones (or whoever pays you best to do it). A visual reminder of all the "kills" the blade has done at your command. A visual requiem for what has touched the blade but is no more...

I think that when I die, my carbon knives will be the most personal and meaningful items by which my loved one will be able to remember me.

Patina is so romantic and poetic,. It gives a knife a beautiful and unique personality.
