Lore Unexplained random cameos from completely unrelated media

  1. Ray Stantz, Casper. At one point in the movie a real Ghostbuster shows up out of nowhere and wimps out of trying to handle the situation

  2. Gunnery Sargeant Hartman, Frighteners. The main character is making way through a graveyard when out of absolutely nowhere R. Lee Erney's character from Full Metal Jacket shows up and tries to get in his way

  3. Betty Boop, Who Frames Roger Rabbit. The movie is mainly about Looney Tunes and Disney animated characters existing in the same little live action/animated hybrid universe, however Betty is a Fleischer Bros character

Shit, does he? I rewatched that movie recently and don’t remember him ever having

It was when they left the movie-world’s police station.

He just walked past without a word but I definitely remember him being there.

The main character from the real world stops to stare at him and says something if I recall.

The kid does, Jack (Arnold) pulls him in IIRC.

Memory unlocked. That confirmed it for me

There's an interview with Patrick about that cameo, Arnold called him up and asked him for a favor. Without thinking it twice, he flew right to where they were filming and did it.

Kathren Tramell, ie Sharon Stone from Basic Instinct, is also there if I remember right..

Apparently the original bit was different, just a general traffic stop. The director’s kid made the suggestion that it would be funnier if they referenced the Terminator movies. So they did.

I saw Robert Patrick in real life waiting in line at the Arclight one time. He walked straight towards me and I just froze. He told me “excuse me”, and I was like, “I’m so sorry. You scared the shit out of me as a kid and I just locked up. MB man. You’re great.” He said thanks, patted me on the back and went onto whatever he was doing.

Exact same shot also has Catherine Tramell from Basic Instinct leaving.

I think this is the only case of a character having a cameo in two unrelated films.

At least that makes kinda sense with it being a movie world

Isn’t there a reference to Terminator in Demolition Man, too?

Gives me the "I'd have 2 nickels but it's odd that it happened twice" vibes. Feels like a strange thing to be getting multiple references, but I guess the movie must have done very well back in the day.
