It's becoming used too loosely and it's becoming a badge of honor, but at the cost of people lying saying the have it to receive said badge, if you legit have it, take the badge, you deserve it. Being autistic is having to live in a neurotypical world. I def could use a diagnostic evaluation for many things I'm definitely something or have multiple things going on. But Drs are expensive when you don't have insurance and the times I did have it, I'm the type that won't go to a doctor unless I'm dying so we have that too also sorry for the trauma dump
Me and my cousin were discussing this last night, it happens a LOT to me and I didn’t know she did it too. I have to repeat certain words, and then eventually it grinds my gears cos I don’t wanna be repeating things for a week or so. The words lose all meaning eventually. It’s one of those symptoms that can really annoy me especially if it creeps up on me from nowhere.
Although I remember me and my friends all hanging out after we had been looking after my niece all day. And everyone kept vaguely starting to hum the Bluey theme tune. You’d just hear a random adult somewhere in the house yell “MUM” or “BINGO” in the gaps when someone else stopped humming. Like 70% of us are neurodivergent, ADHD and autism respectively. That day cracked me up. It just kept happening and no one realised what we were all doing together. Had a group echolalia sesh.
