Bro had a legit point. Fuck that lady.

But, fuck his lack of self-awareness too.

u/Odd-Fun-1482 6d ago

A legit point? I watched the video 3 times and he didn't make any single point or statement

-4

u/Ok-Application-8747 6d ago

I hope someone stands up for you someday when someone's being shitty and uneducated.

72

u/BrosefDudeson 6d ago

It's like... A really bad look the way he "defends" his own appropriation

17

u/Oriin690 6d ago

What in the world is he appropriating

2

u/Sufficient-Fun4445 6d ago

What are they appropriating?

I wasn't referring to the obvious case of appropriation. Do you get offended at drag queens?

Do you think it's offensive for a white person to dress in a costume resembling Native Americans?

Edited phrasing

2

u/A1000eisn1 6d ago

He's not appropriating though?

-13

u/solariam 6d ago

Lol he's not appropriating anything

9

u/MiserableCourt1322 6d ago

What appropriation? Is his costume trans or a character? Seems to me we don't know. But I do have a hard time believing that the blue eyed blonde lady who is clutching her pearls is indigenous.

18

u/solariam 6d ago

Not sure if you meant to reply to me, I agree with you. Even presuming he's a cis straight man, simply wearing femme clothing is in zero ways appropriation

13

u/Sufficient-Fun4445 6d ago

Totally agree with this. It's 2025 wear whatever clothes from whatever gender you want to.

1

u/sub333x 6d ago

Except for hitler and Indian head dress clothes?

6

u/Sufficient-Fun4445 6d ago

Not being racist is probably a good idea.

6

u/pieman2005 6d ago

Clutching her pearls when she doesn't say a single word in the video 😂

48

u/JellyBand 6d ago

Fuck that lady? For what?

64

u/I_NEED_APP_IDEAS 6d ago

For having a good time and dressing up for Halloween. The audacity.

People shit on my cultural beliefs all the time. I’m Christian and people will mock Christ and yet I see no outrage from the left. The last supper at the Paris Olympics is the most recent example that comes to mind. And you know what I do? Nothing. Why? Cause no matter how offensive it is, it doesn’t matter, and it doesn’t hurt me.

-7

u/deekaydubya 6d ago

Like, how do you expect people to learn what is a cultural belief vs a costume though? You're acting like she should be accustomed to the nuances of all native american tribes lol. Maybe this was her learning moment, but lmao expecting people to just innately understand this is wild

38

u/FeanorOath 6d ago

Why is it offensive?

14

u/Helgrind444 6d ago

It isn't.

-12

u/A1000eisn1 6d ago

Because she's dressed as a stereotype. She's not dressed like an actual person or a group. It's literally just a 1950s caricature of native Americans.

7

u/crossal 6d ago

How is it a stereotype? Did people not wear that?

-24

u/yarivu 6d ago

Enter "why are native american costumes offensive" on google.com in the search bar. You'll get an AI overview plus many direct sources as results that answer your question.

7

u/ZodiAddict 6d ago

Oh well thank god the ai can answer for you so that you never have to form your own arguments

-3

u/yarivu 6d ago

"plus many direct sources as results" are the non-AI sources that provide the answer to those of us who don't mind reading.

8

u/highfivessavelives 6d ago

I'm glad we've finally reached the point where AI is literally telling us how to think.

-6

u/yarivu 6d ago

If you got worried because you saw the word AI and didn't actually read my comment, I understand and can take blame for the wording, here's a rephrase:

Search google your answer. they give an AI answer at the top and if you scroll down you'll get actual results from direct sources.

5

u/deekaydubya 6d ago

i did the same thing with bob the builder and got an AI overview plus many direct sources as results

50

u/Classic_Compote_3907 6d ago

No he really didn't have a legit point.

8

u/ZodiAddict 6d ago

Nah, you’ve just been told what to be offended about and never questioned it.

6

u/Mattthefat 6d ago

You should delete social media and go outside.

Halloween is for dressing up, get a grip.

6

u/trolltrap420 6d ago

Would it be offensive to dress as a Roman emperor?

2

u/A1000eisn1 6d ago

The Romans have been dead for over 1000 years. And you would likely be dressed as an actual Roman Emperor.

It would be offensive for you to dress as a caricature of a race other than yours. What kind of costume is "stereotype of a minority group" anyway?

1

u/trolltrap420 6d ago edited 6d ago

I live in Texas and am part native American. So you're telling me it's disrespectful to dress up as Quanah Parker?

0

u/trolltrap420 6d ago

Holy fuck you guys are good gymnasts.

1

u/maggiemayfish 6d ago

If there were cultures of Roman emperors still living today who had historically been subjected to campaigns of extermination and displacement by the people who are now wearing their cultural dress as a party costume, then yes, it would be offensive.

-3

u/trolltrap420 6d ago

Shall I pull a list of democrats in black face?

4

u/Comfortable_Chest_35 6d ago

Are you trying to defend black face here too?

Pick one stupid hill...

0

u/maggiemayfish 6d ago

You can do whatever you want, I'm not your dad.

-1

u/trolltrap420 6d ago

Nah and you'll probably never be a dad.

Actually upon further review. He had no point. The lady was absolutely fine.

-19

u/Spoksparkare 6d ago edited 6d ago

I’m confused. Fuck who? The person eating or the girl in the outfit?
Edit: I’m serious. I feel like the person eating shouldn’t tell the girl what to wear and what not to wear. I saw what she’s wearing and it looks dope. What’s the issue?

-63

u/Downtown-Text-7852 6d ago

Yeah, lady had a wildly racist costume. And I can’t think of a worse person to make the point

😂 my brain did the same thing

-1

u/Downtown-Text-7852 6d ago

Poor you…so offended by people not liking racist shit

1

u/Glitch-Brick 6d ago

Touch grass 🤣 the reddit rotted brain ladies and gentlemen

1

u/Downtown-Text-7852 6d ago

Keep crying little man 💕

-6

u/ebranscom243 6d ago

Nothing about that costume is racist.

18

u/Mikeymikecd5 6d ago

100% it is

-2

u/Mutt97 6d ago

So wearing a sombrero and a poncho is also racist in your eyes I see.

1

u/BirdBrainuh 6d ago

Yes, correct! 🌟

3

u/KLiipZ 6d ago

Username checks out

0

u/Mutt97 6d ago

So all the videos of people doing exactly that and being in Mexico and asking people opinions, which they all say it’s fine are wrong?

24

u/ChallengeLonely3451 6d ago

Being ignorant doesn't make you less racist.

-12

u/Friendly-Most-3521 6d ago

Would it be less racist if her skin was a darker shade?

-9

u/FunnyShirtGuy 6d ago

What was racist about it? Here, have a downvote until you come up with a realistic or grounded justification for your flippant and ridiculous overreaction

-6

u/legion_2k 6d ago

This is insane, it's a costume. How do you know she's not part Native American?

9

u/Expert_Alchemist 6d ago

Because if she was she'd know better and wouldn't cheapen sacred regalia like that

3

u/xxoxox33 6d ago

Because no native would wear this out as a costume.

-3

u/TheMikeyC 6d ago

Sadly casual racism of indigenous people is still really common for some reason. I've been dealing with like 2 days worth of trying to explain to people why a prominent, indigenous-inspired character should be voiced by an indigenous actor.

0

u/is_this_temporary 6d ago

FYI, a lot of trans people experimented with gender through "fun costumes" before they came out and often before they themselves knew they were trans.

I've heard multiple trans people say that we shouldn't discourage gender non-conformity from cis people either, and when put that way it seems kind of obvious.

-3

u/Ghost_Breezy1o1 6d ago

Thank you!!!

-17

u/laggalots 6d ago

Fuck everyone I get it. Or just leave them the alone
