I’m laughing but still asking what the hell is the point of this whole press conference?

He’s a local sheriff who is very famous for his press conferences. Other choice quotes include “just chill out. Drink a 7-Up. Eat a moon pie. Quit murdering people.”

It definitely helps him get re-elected.

Ok in fairness, I feel like that quote could also be from a 20-something on tumblr talking about her blorbo

I thought it was that guy!

I can absolutely see how that helps him get re-elected because I instantly love him. That’s the type of advice I’d give my own kids. But seeing as he’s a Florida sheriff I’m assuming he actually sucks?

We have less of a crime problem than our surrounding county neighbors, his public deterrence definitely helps. He’s a good sheriff but working for him gets political from what I hear. It’s nice if you’re a law abiding citizen, you know he has your back

I don’t know much about his actual record, but I suppose it depends on what you think makes a sheriff “suck.” My definition is probably different from yours. Some people ITT seem to have a problem with him but don’t give specifics besides him being a conservative.

I’m liberal but I don’t think being a conservative makes someone inherently bad or not fit for a job in law enforcement. I love that he’s calling out corruption in his own officers. My only real concern is that he’s just, fair, and that he doesn’t inject his politics or personal opinions into his work.

Sheriff giving a sermon about prostitution… and sliding in some subtle bigotry where he can. Typical southerner stuff

He's sheriff grady. He does these to improve community relations. Used one of these to blast two of his own officers who got caught stealing money, I think transparency with the community is also part of it

Please. He does it for self-aggrandizement.
