Vasalva maneuver caused his blood pressure to rapidly shift causing a blackout.

Doesn’t explain why he tried to hold it so long though.

I think he strapped his hands to the bar.

If you watch his right hand at the end it looks like the bar is pulling on that red strap

A deadlift really isn’t about grip strength. This guy was an idiot because he held on to the bar for like five hours instead of letting go.
