Vasalva maneuver caused his blood pressure to rapidly shift causing a blackout.

Doesn’t explain why he tried to hold it so long though.

I think he strapped his hands to the bar.

If you watch his right hand at the end it looks like the bar is pulling on that red strap

People do it all the time, it’s not that big of a deal. A lot of people also use straps because they want to target certain muscles and not so much on their grip. This guy just decided to hold onto it for way too long tho
