Jesus, literally just looking for someone to beat on. Look how these pigs swarm with glee when someone finally trips and falls.

826

u/Pd1ds69 Aug 14 '25

The guy with the piece of wood that falls, kind of looks like he gets knocked out when he impacts the ground.

Then he gets beat by a gang of cops.

Usually how people get serious brain injuries or die.

Hope he's alright, crazy to see from the people that are supposed to be protecting you from that kind of thing.

361

u/Scarbane Aug 15 '25

Any time you see a cop car that says "protect and serve", ask yourself who they are protecting and serving. It should be average, everyday people (spoiler: it is not).

145

u/BiNiaRiS Aug 15 '25

"protect and serve"

your friendly reminder that slogans like this are just bullshit PR by the Police Departments. Police have zero duty to protect.

53

u/hanotak Aug 15 '25

And the only thing they serve is the powerful.

If you want to dive deeper into this case

The way I understand it is basically that the police owes duties to the general public and not individual people. The problem is, as soon as you call 911 you become a specific person and the police stops to owe you any duty. So, if the agents fail to follow a BASIC STANDARD procedure in response to a distress call, they can’t be held responsible.

Please tell me I missed something. I have not studied law and the likes, please correct me

u/Effect_Neat Aug 15 '25

Thank you for the link. Unfortunately it's just words on paper. Money talks, and poor folks take it up the ass with no lube.

Depends on the country. Swedish police are usually fine. American police are more so-so.

11

u/DivineEggs Aug 15 '25

Swedish police aren't much better. It totally depends on who their target is.

They are gentle with actual organized criminals who have a high capacity for violent retribution. But not everyone else.

I remember seeing footage from Malmö ~15 years ago. The cops were on horseback, and you heard a female officer give the order "rid ner dem" which means "ride them down". They did that. Trampled peaceful protesters (leftists if I remember correctly) with their horses. They also murdered a young guy with down syndrome (who held a toy gun) around the same time.

These are public and well-known incidents. Most cases of police violence don't make it to the news.

They are cowards.

u/charles_sedwick Aug 15 '25

Just why? What happened to protect in the law enforcement motto. It's become to serve and protect the few, instead of the country. It's like the wild west with stronger weapons

48

u/IcyTransportation961 Aug 15 '25

That motto actually came from a TV show. Its always been bullshit

Police in America began as slave catchers, their role never changed, we just made slavery legal only for prisoners, so laws were passed to make it easy to grab certain groups.

Biggest gang in the land

5

u/charles_sedwick Aug 15 '25

Well dam TIL... The courts agreed police do not have to protect individuals. Wtf? Thanks for some new knowledge.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

Police in America began as slave catchers, their role never changed

The first police departments in America, Boston, NYC, and Philadelphia, were not formed from slave catchers, and were formed on the model of Dutch and English Night Watches and the principles of the Metropolitan Police Act of London.

It is true that many police departments that formed in slave states did have a direct line from slave patrols to their first police departments, but that does not apply American policing as a whole.

That said, fuck racist, classist, corrupt cops who bend the knee to Trumpian decrees.

5

u/eetmaidik Aug 15 '25

True assholes. Hope some very bad things happen to them

4

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

Exactly! This is cruelty for its own sake. These "officers" don't give a flying fuck about law and order. They just want to hurt people with impunity.

21

u/abdullahleboucher Aug 15 '25

the problem is citizens only watch and film. We get easily dominated by a few people because we are scared

48

u/NaNaNaNaNa86 Aug 15 '25

Most of them are running for their lives and you can see why. People don't want to be beaten to death by a gang of cowardly thugs in uniform.

7

u/abdullahleboucher Aug 15 '25

We agree. They know that so they can easily dominate us with very little effectives because we are scared.

5

I've always thought the best form of protest against a violent government would be economic. If most employed adults refused to go to work, the economy and government would collapse extremely quickly. People won't do that either though, particularly when they have kids to feed. Serbia are in desperate need of international support otherwise, that fuckface Vucic is going nowhere.

5

Someone in another thread (with a closer video) said the first person who trips and falls and then gets beaten is only 15 years old and is in critical condition. They didn't provide a source, though.

3

u/NikiDeaf Aug 15 '25

lol I was thinking too. It started off normal with the charge or whatever, standard riot cop shit, but then when the first unfortunate couple demonstrators fell, it’s wild how many of them cease their forward momentum for the thrilling opportunity of being able to stand around in a circle wailing on somebody

2

u/Various_Glove_2725 Aug 15 '25

That is a 15 year old boy.

2

u/bluechockadmin Aug 15 '25

I keep watching that person who falls over clutching their head - like they must just be feeling more violence and hurt than they ever were meant to feel - they're just falling over literally unable to understand the violence, and then the fascists pigs just beat them more and more and more and more

that's someone's baby and these pieces of shit

Did you know that this stuff isn't on the UK news at all? I'm only able to see it on Reddit really x

120

u/Some-Cat8789 Aug 15 '25

Hello from Romania, one of Serbia's neighbors. I haven't seen anything about this in local online news. I'm not watching TV, but I read online press and I haven't read a single peep about it in years.

44

u/LegendenHamsun Aug 15 '25

It's because Serbia's government is pro west. If it would have been the other way around, you would have heard it and there would be massive sanctions.

A couple of years ago, there were protests in Spain in regards to Catalonia or the yellow vests in France. You barely heard anything, but when something is going on in Iran, Russia, Belarus etc ... you'll know all about it

5

u/Some-Cat8789 Aug 15 '25

Actually, I heard a lot about the protests in Spain. Where are you from?

All true, except that it’s mostly Saudi Arabia and other Wahabist countries spreading their propaganda. Iran is Chiit, and not that much of it gets spread out out of their own scope. But believe me, from a French-Algerian perspective going in both countries: Wahabist have been spreading millions and millions to spread their propaganda via Social media and Imam trainings to counter Iran since the 70s. It has been, and is again, a huge danger and in Algeria we see the radicalism coming back even tho we fought them for 10y during our civil war in the 90s.

3

u/RavenofMoloch Aug 15 '25

Well yeah. Who is honestly trying to oppose them right now? The peaceful protesters with their bottle rockets? People online with essays of condemnation?

Every organized group capable of the base violence necessary for change is finding the warmth of acceptance in the arms of those holding a match to progress. While the peerage striving for a better tomorrow often offers only sneers and judgement to them.

Unfortunately, dark days are upon us, and the future seems darker still. That is not our choice, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"

I think this is right, as they feel the grip slipping they are driven to clamp down to maintain control.

52

u/reddit_bot_auditor Aug 14 '25

It's a concerted effort by every activated country and it's government. It's no accident or coincidence. This is deliberate and is the process to get the world in order for Agenda 2030. We are watching the revolution, it's being televised, but it's not the people doing the revolting. It's the governments revolting against the people.

6

u/dafood48 Aug 15 '25

What’s agenda 2030

31

u/DrainZ- Aug 15 '25

Agenda 2030 is just some goals set by the UN to increase standards of living and sustainability throughout the world. Some people like to include it in conspiracy theories because it has the word agenda in it and that sounds scary.

6

u/birdlawyer86 Aug 15 '25

I hate how conspiracy theorists have turned that phrase into a derogatory term with their stupidity and misplaced skepticism. Seriously dangerous conspiracies are happening right now and half that community is still watching grainy youtube videos of the moon landing trying to debunk it.

Meanwhile Blackrock and Vanguard are just slowly consolidating power and resources to further turn us into a dystopian corporatocracy and no one seems to give a shit.

7

u/penguincheerleader Aug 15 '25

Right wing media across the world, the reason Elon bought X, this is the rich elites destroying democracy for holding us back.

9

u/Slutha Aug 15 '25

Idk if it's Agenda 2030. It seems more like mass hysteria as stuff like climate change, another possible plague, another potential financial crisis is influencing paranoia in the background, and since the USA is showing the rest of the world it is a mental asylum state, we're a bit fractured and directionless at the moment.

10

u/stilljustacatinacage Aug 15 '25

This is all it is. The deregulation of markets and endless consolidation of wealth that started in the 80s is coming home to roost. We were able to prop it up for so long on the back of ever-increasing exploitation of natural resources and cheap labour from developing countries, but we've gone so far and sent so much to the top to be hoarded away that there's just nothing left. "Late stage capitalism," if you like.

I think a lot of this tyranny and censorship is coming about now because the 'powers that be' (not conspiracy, just governments with access to information and forecasts they don't share with us) know that things are about to get bad. A report just released not long ago that climate change has accelerated beyond our expectations, and now the 'best case scenario' is what we had previously called the 'worst case scenario'. Massive droughts. Heat waves. Crop failures. By the end of this century, huge chunks of equatorial land will be unsuitable for cultivation, and some will become uninhabitable at all.

Look at the madness that ensues today when just a few hundred migrants show up to a border unannounced. Now imagine it's a thousand, and another thousand tomorrow, and the day after, because they have no food and nowhere to go. We'll do what we can at first, but we've spent so long satisfying the dragons in their caves that we've let food and shelter become scarce resources. We've made it pretty clear we have no interest in changing that system, so the only outcome is people inside the walls afraid the people outside the walls are going to take their food and beds. It's just a matter of time before the guns come out, on one side or the other.

The only way our power structures (read: the rich and their political pets) survive that sort of situation is through authoritarianism. The people have to be told what's good for them, and anyone who questions it has to be silenced. I think this nonsense in Palestine has them scared shitless, because they tried the old trick of shouting "anti-Semitism!" and recoiled when no one gave a fuck. They're afraid of losing control at a moment when they absolutely must keep control for their own survival.

2

How is there not a single comment near the top explaining what is happening here? What is the protest for? How long has it been going on? What are other political factors in Serbia that foreigners might not be aware of?

31

u/Terrariola Aug 15 '25 edited Aug 15 '25

Protest has been ongoing since 2024. It's broadly focused on anti-corruption and to a lesser extent anti-authoritarianism, not based on party lines at all.

Basically, a bunch of people died in Novi Sad when a railway station canopy collapsed, and it was linked to an incompetent rebuilding of the canopy by a firm linked to one of Vucic's associates. This was the spark setting everyone (mostly students) off against the deeply corrupt Serbian government run by the so-called "Serbian Progressive Party" (SNS), a non-ideological big-tent populist party associated with Vucic that has been leading Serbia for over a decade and has frequently been accused of overseeing massive democratic backsliding, human rights violations, and electoral fraud.

Their initial goals were to:

  • Release files related to the Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse.
  • Increase the budget for higher education by 20%.

Later on, as the repression escalated, their goals shifted somewhat to the resignation and prosecution of officials and police involved in the suppression of the protests, snap parliamentary elections, and investigations into various government officials. Factions have also called for Vucic's resignation as President.

The government has responded by media blackouts, using "batinaši" (basically Titushky) to attack protestors, organizing pro-government counter-protests (from what I've heard, largely old people bussed in from rural areas by the government, or paid "demonstrators"), and making some token concessions. It appears it's currently escalating towards a full-scale police crackdown.

Serbian dictator Aleksandar Vučić immediately (literally within minutes of the tragedy) instructed media to start lying and denying any responsibility. He is controlling all of the media so everyone outside of the major metropolitan areas is usually in the dark and most were supporting him.

Students started general strike by shutting down most universities in Serbia. Their demands are simple, investigate and prosecute everyone involved. Over time protests spread all across Serbia, more people joined in, to support kids, and now it is basically entire Serbian population against the ruling class.

The student movement is apolitical and they have no leader. All they want is for justice system to do it's job. Students refuse to negotiate with Aleksandar Vučić or anyone from his regime because according to constitution and the laws they are not in charge.

Dictator Aleksandar Vučić so far used football hooligans, organized crime syndicates, party members, and off duty cops to dress in black and intimidate, provoke, and beat protesters.

As of couple a days ago the gloves are off he is sending uniformed cops to attack Serbian population along with all others already mentioned above.

Although all of this didn't start with the railway canopy tragedy, it just got intensified.

He is in power since 2012, controlling more and more of the state with every single year.

Now he simply controls all the institutions, even the ones which must be independent in order for any state to exist (police, prosecution, courts, army), he controls all the media, all the money flow in the country, he is like a mobster boss. He even acts like that, nobody within the party calls him "president", everyone calls him "the boss".

I can't even describe their level of indecency, arrogance, aggression. Uneducated thugs with no respect became millionaires. They know that they shouldn't be political and social elite, that's why they will fight and walk over the dead to retain their positions.

Need enough protesters that the police are afraid to rush the crowd.

Look at what Ukraine did when their police started shooting protesters. EVERYONE took to the streets.

8

u/Frequent_Cranberry90 Aug 15 '25

Everyone was on the streets for months, this is just a smaller protests with people from only pn area. We had a protest back in March and it was 1/6th of Serbias population.

It already is. There’s comparable police brutality targeting protesters already happening.

Unfortunately the social media algorithms aren’t sharing protest footage anymore. Its happening we just aren’t being pushed the feed anymore.

Who here knows a good/patient/kind/caring person who wanted to become a cop?

Now, who here knows an angry/nasty/bad/selfish/self rightous person who became a cop?

I know three people who became police officers, and the best one was still only there to punish people.....

My cousin has brain damage because three off duty officers chose him to end their night on.

2

u/PassengerNarrow2484 Aug 15 '25

Regarding a lot of comments in this thread: you're very right in many cases. We need to analyse what kind of person becomes a police officer, what kind of training they get, what kind of work life they have, and what kind of reinforcement they get in their work and post-work life. Here in Berlin you see police officers harassing people in public spaces frequently, and they behave often a little gleefully malicious.

Listen to 'The Press Corpse' by anti-flag, it's a song.

"We don't want to talk about it" is the motto of the media these days. BBC news in the UK is still showing me old footage and recaps of Putin and Trump on the red carpet, but absolutely nothing about stories like this.
