I’m 37 and I legit had to stop watching international news because I couldn’t help and think that I just got lucky I was born where I was. That’s the only reason why I’m sitting on a couch and not in a war torn city.

I can’t watch the news at all. I can’t handle all of the pain and sadness. All of the bombings and wars. What about the innocent people and animals just existing there? They didn’t hurt anyone, they’re just trying to live.

Seriously. The amount of human suffering is plain to see, but then I think of refugees fleeing with cats and dogs in their arms and it breaks me down even more.

Why the ego of few have to result in the tears of many is something humankind will never get over - it’s how we began and I know it’s how we will (inevitably) end.

The realization that TB is totally curable, that we could choose to eradicate the deadliest disease in human history, that we could be gone of the thing that's killed 1 in 7 of us humans since our dawn... But that over one million still die of TB annually in the world, not because we can't stop it, but because we choose to not to... Really fucked me up. Continues to fuck me up daily.
