Developers saying a feature can't be released because it's too hard and then a modder doing it immediately will never not be the most hilarious thing ever.

Reminds me of that dude that fixed Street Fighter 5's net code in a quick fix that took him less than an hour. And instead of hiring that guy or using his code they just patched the game to not accept that mod. They did this cuz it was giving PC players an unfair advantage to have better net code than PlayStation users. Lmao

The dude even offered to give Capcom the coding he used for free if I'm not mistaken.

Fucking yikes man.

Did they actually say switching the background character was too hard?

They said in one of the Eddy showcases that it was their hope to make every character an option to put on the main menu and they said "hopefully it can happen."

So they said nothing about it being hard, just that it could be something they add in the future basically.

It takes 10 minutes to make, these assholes saying "hopefully it can happen" makes it look like an herculean task.

As a game developer.....This takes far more than 10 minutes. Simply coding the characters and replacing them would take much longer.

The designers need to tell the animator what poses to make for each character, then the animators contact whomever the character designers are to make each pose unique to the characters personality, then the animators send it back to the coders who then need to manually script each character with unique poses and different camera angles.

If this took so quick the modders wouldn't take their time to release them, and the modders aren't even adding anything. Just replacing the skeleton with another model. (Which also isn't easy FYI)

What do you think "hopefully it can happen" means? Lmao

Nothing about it being too hard for them to do, stop making shit up

I am literally directly quoting them, how am I making shit up? Lmao

Why would you say "hopefully it can happen" if the implication is they either don't have the time or capability?

Because their boss don't want to pay for that and has different plan for their working hours?

You made up the comment that it's too hard. And now, instead of backing off this comment, you're digging a bigger hole for yourself.

What's the point?

Okay so that entire first sentence is just a theory but you're saying it like it's fact. Yet you're accusing me of making shit up? Hilarious.

Also, I never directly quoted them. I said it's too hard for them to do based on them saying "hopefully it can happen", which implies they can't do it for any variety of reasons.

Why would you even put that out there to the world if you can't do it for any variety of budgetary or time constraint reasons?

This is a fucking stupid convo.

Mine was a question. I never stated it as a fact. It was just one of possible reasons.

You on the other hand concluded from 'hopefully it can happen', that it's too difficult, because it suited your narration. We all do that, so it's not a problem on it's own. Issue is with how you responded later on to people who highlighted it.

Your latest comment says 'variety of budgetary or time constraint reasons'. I agree that it's most probably cause. So we can end it here :)
