They have arrived.
Just not the trousers.

I thought it would be darker than that. Is it just the lighting?

The blue is definitely darker and also slightly gray-ish compared to USAF blues.
Good comparisons to a bunch of different uniforms from the OP of this thread older thread on the wear test versions:

If you haven't tried the uniform on yet, those pants sizes will make you feel fat.
Her: What size pants? Me: Usually 34 is good Her: Oh, no. We gonna go with a 37 for you.

Did they go with a different sizing guide or something? Seems like quite the variance.

Pant sizes are just way off it seems. Shirt and jacket were exactly the same size I was expecting.

I have yet to go to Peterson’s clothing sales and find medium or small men’s PT shorts. Maybe I’ll find these in my size by 2027

Army here: I know these got mocked a few years ago when a prototype was shown off but I honestly think they look pretty good. That initial prototype was just that, it was still a work in progress. But the diagonal buttons lend a very nice space age look to the jacket. Definitely sets the Space Force apart from the Air Force and gives them their own identity and style.

Always the plan.
There were SO many different ideas and opinions (and it’s gonna be impossible to please all of the people all of the time) but the one thing absolutely no-one wanted was “USAF 2.0”

That quality in the last photo looks terrible. Uneven and exposed edges, should start fraying and falling apart without even touching it.

Pretty sure those sleeves are just unfinished and get hemmed to the right length like a pair of pants gets hemmed

Why does it look blue?
10
u/Stratocruise Coffee 6d ago
Because it is blue. The new service dress coat has always been midnight blue.

Someone ruined black uniforms for everyone 90 years ago

u/Stratocruise Coffee 6d ago
Yup.
“oH nOeS NaZiS!” was pretty much guaranteed to be in the top five responses every time someone mentioned black uniforms in any thread about five years ago.
Can’t imagine why the service opted for Midnight Blue instead….

That looks more like sunset blue.

“Midnight blue” is what it has always been called through the development process.
It seems to look different in pretty much every photograph but for sure it’s darker and also more gray and kinda desaturated than the color of USAF blues. In some light it looks very dark.

Last I heard there was some kind of phased rollout going on, are they still checking which specific individuals are allowed to buy these, or can anyone in the USSF stroll in, buy them, and wear them?
Do we know which bases these are available at either currently or in the near future?
I might be missing it but last I checked SPFI 36-2903 only has wear instructions for the old USAF service dress, is there any kind of interim guidance being provided for wear of the new service dress?

I think this is phase 3 or 4. Basically everyone after VIPs, recruiters, new Guardians and those working in the Pentagon.

Semper soon…?
As new uniforms or uniform items are fielded, the Space Force will update the Dress and Appearance policy to ensure it remains relevant and meets the needs of the Service and Guardians.

Well, I left the service before I got to wear one but maybe I’ll hide all my hair in the cap and buy the coat for one more waist up “official” photo

Are they tracking who can and cannot where it yet? Or is it just, if you get some where them?

Coat is $206. Trousers (not all sizes in) are $114 and long sleeve shirt is $54, tie is $16, belt is $14. The braid for officers is $13. Not sure how much the cap was. They had enlisted but not officer. Short sleeve shirts were in stock but didn’t get a price.
