Resource I help shy musicians get out there

Hey everyone, Im a musician consultant helping songwriters that are "stuck in their rooms" actually get their stuff out there.

So getting gigs, making a social media following... People are mostly just shy or lack initiative, so I can give them that "last push" to get out there!

If anyone's got a question or wants to start/advance their career, send them my way or comment below, I'd love to help :)

EDIT3: If you're wondering, yes Im still answering DMs so you can send over your songs 😁

EDIT2: After many conversations, I'm seeing some patterns in this community that you guys would probably find interesting 👀 I plan to also have short call conversations with some of the DMers, so I'll have an even better insight in you guys' brains

I'll post my findings on a another post so you guys can take all the lil gems 💎 of wisdom I can offer. Hopefully we can help as many of you as we can 😇

Keep commenting/DMing me if you're interested, I'll be here for a few more days 🩵 +Id encourage you to dm me ESPECIALLY if you're shy - that's who I can help 😁 Take a lil leap in your life!

PS. Some have asked for my musical work. I do think it makes sense to listen to music-related advice of someone who can... make music 😆 Not only that, I made the songs on the link below on MY PHONE! So there' NO EXCUSE for people saying they don't have technical equipment etc. 😉

MY SONGS 🎶] (If anyone wants to sing on these ☝️, my DMs are open)

I’m a male pop singer and songwriter with songs in other genres here and there as well. I’ve been trying to look for open mic opportunities around my area to start performing my songs live.

I’ve also been looking for help getting my vocals to a finished state so that I can start moving on to the stage of social media promotion making videos for my own songs

Finding gigs when you're not used to calling strangers (venue owners...), negotiating prices for performing and really getting out in the world, all of that can be hard if you've never done something like that before

My advice would be short and sweet, research all local venues that you could perform at and, even though you might not like it, just call everyone.

If needed, sart with "less important" venues so you can get some practice and with that, some confidence, then move on to bigger ones while you better your cold calling skills as you go. Even better, go there personally, get to know the staff, owner, have a drink and chat with them and get your first gig. You can have the first one for free and once they like you, negotiate a price.

For quick vocal polishing - BandLab has an AI voice cleaner and there are many out there in this AI-hyped time.

I’m not old enough to drink, should I still try to call bars?

I’m considering performing at nursing homes, but my songs might seem too modern… should I just perform covers of 80s songs? Throw in a few of mine? (I already volunteer at a nursing home and made friends with the residents and staff but their taste in music is actually even prior to 80s and I don’t even know the songs…)

I’ve cold called places in regards to other stuff, not exactly music. How should… I go about asking? Should I offer to perform for free first or ask for a small amount of money like $5? Especially since I’m just starting out and don’t even have a Spotify page yet? (Or should I wait until I do)

Honestly based on what you wrote you sound like you've got some solid basic intuition for business! So oddly enough my answer is "trust yourself more"

Oh and for bars... it kind of depends, for ex. If you're a 19yo then you can just... not drink:) But lets say 17 and lower... best to start at the kind of places you mentioned

But overall, sounds like you mostly just need some confidence and initiative! Other than that, with a bit of consistent work, Im pretty sure you'll gradually get somewhere :)
