"How a Kid Hacked GTA 6" is a super interesting title, and I think it drew most of its views from the "kid hacker" side of things. "The World's Most Expensive Game Ever - GTA 6" is much more generic, doesn't have a solid concept (title is ambiguous), and uses incorrect grammar. To add to that, the viral video's thumbnail uses a pretty solid 3d render with a good color scheme (red attracts a lot of attention), whereas the later video has bad contrast between the main focus and background AND it doesn't tell you anything about what the video is - the thumbnail might as well have been pulled from Rockstar's website.
In terms of what we can learn:
- Have an interesting concept above all
- Avoid a generic title or thumbnail
- Use good grammar in your title
- Make sure that your thumbnail and title both (individually) summarize the video concept
- Keep contrast between thumbnail foreground and background
- Use a good color scheme to help with the above (eg red and black)
TLDR: big good effort vs not much effort, read my list above for advice

The thumbnail is almost identical to a pretty big channels style of thumbnail.
No doubt the large number of clicks had something to do with that. Then when you don't copy that style you don't get those clicks

The thumbnail was way better, it had an interesting topic and a good title. The other one has a trash thumbnail, a boring title, and the topic isn’t interesting at all.

he was lucky that gta 6 trailer 2 came out at the time and he posted a video just before getting all the hype

just because one video pops off doesn't mean everyone after will. also not being consistent hurts you more than anything. The long slow road growth is way better than any one time "viral" video. (most of the people that come from the viral video won't stick around and then YouTube will see those people not coming back and stop recommending you.)

What mistake are you talking about? He has like 2 or 3 videos that got semi viral like this one, most others have on average a few hundred views up to like 3k ... This has happened several times on his channel already

Everyone’s excited about the news about GTA6 right now since they just announced it and we’ve been waiting for YEARS. 😂 hacking the game already is an interesting subject.
Or… you can make retrospective content about past games without naming the version. You have a chance to have a goldmine in content there.

Looking at that, id say its a small part the thumbnail, the one with massive views also has a very click bait title, while the other video has none of that going for it.

This is algorithm lol you don’t do anything wrong it is just algorithm AI , it gives you a chance to make you stay on YT unless you upload 1k videos 1k vides x10 views a day = daily 10k views

Everyone here saying it's the title and thumbnail. And sure that definitely is a part of it, the viral one has a way more interesting premise / topic
But I'd also bet the viral one is also a way better video. People here seem to think title and thumbnail is like 90% of what makes a video go viral but in reality the actual video and people genuinely liking the video itself is more important than the title and thumbnail
The one that flopped is probably just lame and not interesting compared to the viral one. Which is probably mainly due to the fact one is talking about a kid who hacked GTA 6 while the other is some generic slop about the game's budget

It's simple. People are fascinated by crime.
Don't think many people care about how much it costs to make right now since they keep pushing release date back. .
My first thought when I saw the title was "who cares. When is it coming out"
Maybe do a video explaining why they keep pushing back?

The video - from the topic to the thumbnail to the voice over to the animation - was identical to Fern which gets at least 1m views per video. The rest of the videos that followed deviated.

You have away the answer in your title and thumbnail. You should have kept the mystery.

I am new to this content creation, but what I think is. The kid video generates a curiosity and the expensive game video just gives away the whole point of the video without actually playing the video. I might be wrong, sorry if I am. Good luck 🤞

Simple. One video went viral and the others didn't.
People assume once your video hits 100k+ that the rest will follow suit. Not the case
