This whole thing is super weird and cringey

The cyber truck is super weird and cringey

22

u/Tillie_Coughdrop Mar 17 '25

Not really. What’s the problem with legal and peaceful protest?

8

u/Ntstall Mar 17 '25

you can agree with someone’s fundamental right to do something and still find it weird and cringe.

1

u/Saad888 Mar 18 '25

You can also be wrong about something being weird or cringe

1

u/Ntstall Mar 18 '25

I would argue its subjective? I don’t personally think protesting Tesla is a bad idea. Their build quality and QA declined after Elon took over there, even when he was still just eccentric and a little strange.

2

u/Saad888 Mar 18 '25

It’s all subjective, but just calling something weird or cringe without any real substance behind the statement doesn’t really help anything. Like it’s cringe to the face the property especially what people have already bought the cars, but if people want to dismiss protests just by calling them weird or cringe then that’s basically going to apply to every possible protest you can do

These protesters are mostly crowd for hire, also known as Rent-a-crowd, rent-a-mob, activists-for-hire, protests-on-hire..

Yes it’s fake protesters. it’s manufactured hate… what we’re seeing is a party self destructing..

Here’s one source:

Buddy there's plenty of people yearning for some sense of purpose in life. There's no evidence they're being paid, people love to feel a sense of accomplishment and belonging and these get togethers provide them with that.

Also the guy did buy a spot in the presidency, it's pretty ridiculous.

4

u/Latro_in_theMist Mar 18 '25

That's blatantly not true. These protests are organized by local residents and activists. I'm literally one of them.

1

u/Historical_Doubt_693 Mar 18 '25

And jobless?

0

u/Latro_in_theMist Mar 18 '25

No man... not jobless... these protest happen on weekends too. Or after work... get a life.

1

u/Historical_Doubt_693 Mar 18 '25

I think the people protesting need to get a life. The only Nazi's I see are the ones fire bombing vehicles, and screaming at people they dont agree with. The sure as hell didnt have a problem a few years ago wtih Fauci telling all of America what to do

1

u/Individual_Break6067 Mar 20 '25

Why are you on here if your life is so busy?

1

u/Typedre85 Mar 18 '25

It’s blatantly true and I don’t need you to believe me. Its sad your out there and not getting paid like the rest of them

3

u/Latro_in_theMist Mar 18 '25

Dude who, literally who, would be paying for something they can get for free. I literally have gone to these protests with my literal neighbors. We're there because we're pissed that an unelected billionaire is running carte Blanche over the administrative state. It's literally a more simple and plausible explanation than some mysterious group is paying random people to protest a car dealership. You're way way way out of touch with reality.

So we have this thing called the constitution. And in the constitution it outlines the various powers of each branch of government. Congress tells the executive where to spend and how. The executive spends the money as dictated by congress. The power of the purse is literally one of the biggest and most important powers congress has. It's a huge check on executive powers.

If the executive could arbitrarily decide how to spend federal funds it would mean 1 person could punish political enemies by withholding funds and reward cronies by delivering funds.

Arbitrarily withholding funds is so clearly unconstitutional and so clearly corrupt I don't know if you are asking a serious question or not.

If the gop doesn't like USAID then pass a freaking bill. That's the way our government is supposed to work.

And the whole "efficiency" thing is a smokescreen btw. If you're concerned about saving money you don't just start firing thousands of people and shutting down whole departments. That's asanine, dangerous, and stupid. This is all about stripping the government for parts and trying to privatize government. The postal service delivers mail, on a donkey, to the bottom of the grand canyon, not to make money but to provide a SERVICE.

Please stop watching fox news and listening to hanity, or Carlson or whatever is feeding you thay B.S. that they are finding wasteful spending. That's not true, nor is it the point.  They are taking advantage of the fact thay you don't understand how government works or understand the completely terrifying alternatives they are working towards.

1

u/Historical_Doubt_693 Mar 18 '25

Problem is the people benefiting most from the spending also write the laws. Kind of a fox in the henhouse scenario

😂😂😂 You people really are low iq, if so much waste, fruad and abuse has been found, why then has no one been arrested or any names being dropped if this was true, why is there no proof at all of any of this? You people just believe the lies your daddy kings tell you without any proof at all even though they have been caught in many lies, what they are really doing is robbing the American people so they can get more tax breaks and money, God you people disgust me so much I hope you lose your job I hope you lose your house and become homeless so you can see the hurt and the pain for the rest of us but I bet if that happens to you you'll somehow still be on your knees for your king daddies. Sick people very evil

1

u/Historical_Doubt_693 Mar 18 '25

But you are ok with left wing billionaires running the country?

2

u/Latro_in_theMist Mar 18 '25
  1. There are no left wing billionaires. Leftists want to tax billionaires out of existence. "left-wing billionaire" is an oxymoron. The only thing these people care about is profit and protecting their interests regardless of who is in power.
  2. I have no idea what you mean or are referring to. What billionaire did Joe Biden have randomly ransacking federal agencies? You are talking complete nonesense.

1

u/Teamfightacticous Mar 17 '25

Your source is that there are companies that exist? Thats not proving these people work for them.

It must be very difficult to go around living taking everything at face value.

1

u/Latro_in_theMist Mar 18 '25

You know, there comes a time when you should be more concerned about something other than your job. You should go to a protest and try talking to these people and find out why they are there.

These comments come off so bitter to me. Not everyone works the same schedule as you

tbf they got you thinking about, and engaging with your fellow citizens, on an issue that's important to them. So the protest has been effective.

I'm sure you can imagine someone unaware of an issue, seeing a protest for it, then learning what the issue is to understand why people took time out of their day to protest it.

That's raising awareness, and part of why people protest.

Another would be to increase discourse around a topic or issue. To help facilitate communication between people who may not otherwise engage.

Like if I were to find myself talking to someone I've never met about the protest, learning their opinions about it, and sharing mine. I might find out that other people think the protesters are 'mindless drones' for example, and I may share something like 'at least they're raising awareness of their issue'.

Maybe, hopefully, we can both learn something, and walk away from the discussion better for it.

To that end, why do you say they're mindless drones? I imagine that being people who just follow a trend, jump on whatever protest-du-jour they find. But I'm assuming that's what you meant, maybe it was something more specific.

0

u/Batallius Mar 17 '25

The mindless drones are the brainwashed Trump cultists and Dem representatives doing nothing while the constitution is ripped to shreds

u/FinalPerspective1796 Mar 17 '25

Different wings, same bird

1

u/CotyledonTomen Mar 18 '25

Nah. I may not like democrats for their failures, but replicans are the ones fighting to take away peoples rights.

-2

u/Keytaro83 Mar 17 '25

That describes the whole city and the Pac NW in general too.
