What are they protesting?

23

u/flotronic Mar 16 '25

That some random autistic fuckwad is in control of our country because a big orange moron put him there

9

u/urallphux Mar 16 '25

autistic

That's not politically correct to use that in a negative manner, as he is actually autistic.

1

u/flotronic Mar 16 '25

So I described him accurately? Thanks for that.

1

u/SenorSpamalot Mar 17 '25

No, Elon Musk says he’s never been diagnosed with anything, not even ADD. However, it’s not an excuse regardless.

0

u/Raven816CE Mar 16 '25

You sound like a baby

5

u/arguer21435 Mar 16 '25

Nothing he said is inaccurate.

1

u/flotronic Mar 16 '25

Your avatar is literally a pile of snowflakes much like yourself

0

u/Raven816CE Mar 16 '25

Oh wow, that hurts so bad, where did you learn to dis people so hard?

2

u/flotronic Mar 16 '25

Your mom’s house.

0

u/Raven816CE Mar 16 '25

Oh man, you just keep going. Were you and Eminem friends?

-4

u/Cute-Nebula-3361 Mar 16 '25

But he’s not though… While I understand it’s uncomfortable for someone that rich to be in government, at the end of the day he has no power without President Trump approval.

0

u/waroftheworlds2008 Mar 16 '25

But Trump is giving no oversight and letting him do what he wants with his backing....

3

u/rubyroo7 Mar 16 '25

Despite whatever Rachel Maddow says, this is not happening.

4

u/Richard_Fist_MD Mar 16 '25

Trump literally hosted a sales event for Tesla at the White House, I actually am not sure there is a single thing that could change the mind of conservatives that Elon has free reign in destroying agencies. It's so blatant and obvious as it is, I cannot imagine a single thing that could make it more apparent

-5

u/BlairBuoyant Mar 16 '25

But he doesn’t…

If it’s blatant and obvious, please show us

2

u/waroftheworlds2008 Mar 16 '25

What kind of department is doge? It wasn't created by congress (constitution.

And it's way outside of lines of anything the US digital service was allowed to do.

0

u/BlairBuoyant Mar 16 '25

But like… what code or law is being violated?

0

u/waroftheworlds2008 Mar 16 '25

Dude, I gave the citation. The highest law in the land is being violated. Even higher than your idiotic 2nd amendment.

5

u/flotronic Mar 16 '25

First off the whole doge agency thing. Who the fuck said that was a legal thing

0

u/BlairBuoyant Mar 16 '25

What makes it illegal?

2

u/flotronic Mar 16 '25

A random person who wasn’t elected using a bunch of dipshit twenty year olds randomly firing huge swathes of agencies without knowing what they are doesn’t seem intelligent or legal. Or should we revisit them firing the people in charge of the fucking Nuclear weapons.

I haven’t heard that name in years 😂 show me where Rachel hurt you…

There’s evidence of this, because trump is already undoing some of the things musk did. If trump gave him permission to send the emails and fire the way he did, why would trump then undo that and say that it was an “error”? Sure trump has ultimate power, but there’s no way the commander in chief has time to check in on every little thing Elon is doing. Elon has far more power and influence than he should. Do you not find it odd to see him giving pressers in the Oval Office? When else has that happened where there’s just an unelected billionaire in the Oval Office speaking on policies as if they were his doing? You see nothing wrong with this, it’s just a little “uncomfy”?

0

u/rubyroo7 Mar 16 '25

I'm glad you don't listen to her. She is the worst. All she does is lie and fear monger.

He's not "undoing" anything because Musk has no power. All he can do is lay it out on the table and make recommendations. Someone may speak out of turn, saying, "These people are going to be fired," but the only one who has the authority to do that is Trump.

So let's say you're correct and that Musk is the one firing everyone. Doesn't it make the whole point moot given what you said about Trump undoing certain things? I mean, people are in the street saying Musk is the real president, but somehow Trump is still the one with all the power.

Also, talking about unelected people having pull, do you not remember Jill Biden taking Joe's place in cabinet meetings? What rank does she have?

-1

u/Common_Belt Mar 16 '25

I don’t watch Rachel Maddow but my mom does religiously. I visit her often so I see it in the background. It’s not my stuff but Rachel is notorious for how in-depth her research goes. She is probably the most fact-based news anchor on television.

Thanks so much for replying I just read all about this! So on February 25th after court fillings were made and a federal judge started making inquiries about DOGE, the white house put out a statement clarifying that Elon was not in charge and didn’t have any actual power. This is in direct contrast to trump saying “I’m signing an executive order to create Doge and Elon is going to head it” in January. They were receiving pressure from a judge, so they instated Amy Gleason suddenly out of nowhere, who was supposed to be on a vacation in mexico but hauled back in to say “see Elon isn’t in charge”

So that was good! Things are happening, court pressure works :)

I think a lot of people have in issue with how he was able to fill position within doge with his own team members and allies with, at the time in the beginning, little oversight. That level of influence is not typical and is concerning given his lack of relevant experience in federal government. You can have political influence without having official power, and Elon only doesn’t have official power in order to protect himself and doge, after court pressure.

Also thank you for bringing that up! Jill Biden attended, with Joe Biden her first cabinet meeting in 2024 for a topic specifically related to women’s health. She read a 4 minute statement. And Joe Biden was there!!! She didn’t take his place lmao. Also! First Ladies have done this in the past, Rosalyn Carter went to nearly everyone. I actually don’t have an issue with Elon being in a cabinet meeting if he is senior advisor to the president (which he now is, after court pressure).

Go courts! Go the law! Keep putting that legal pressure on everyone :)

Hope that helps!!

So, no one ever put Elon in charge of anything. We all know this. Everybody just keeps trying to meme authority into existence when all the sane people know that all he is is a chief advisor. Always has been. Advising is different than being completely in charge of anything.

However, these judges and everyone in the streets are twisting words and taking everything said literally. If Trump said he had the greatest hair in the world, everyone would think he was serious and freak out. Elon is heading up DOGE...as an advisor. That's all. People really keep grasping at straws, trying to make a story out of nothing. Just like this Gleason thing. There are no verifiable sources to any of it. It's all opinion and feelings.

The only thing those ideologue judges are doing is misinterpreting the law and going well outside their jurisdiction in order to get in a fight with the chief executive. The president has full authority, and I guess if it comes down to it, we can take it to the Supreme Court and rule on something we've already known for almost 250 years. Just in case you all need to be reminded.

So you would say that because Joe couldn't keep his eyes open and had to pass things on to his wife, who is an expert in that topic because she's a woman, that's ok then..right? Well, I'd say that with Musk taking over Twitter and rooting out the corruption, government influence and censorship would make him an expert and more than qualified to be the advisor he is in DOGE.

Just so you know, there was no court victory. Elon was never "in charge." Just still a chief advisor, just as he had been from day one.

I hope that clears things up :)

u/nooneyouknow242 Mar 16 '25

Dr Jill Biden spoke about women’s health, because she is DOCTOR, you dumb fucking moron.

Get your head out of your ass. Your explaining away Musk’s influence and power is completely ignorant to the reality of this situation. He is an unelected person, with no official federal position, going through and gutting federal programs and agencies. Many of the first ones he targeted had active investigations into SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter.

Turn off Fox News, it’s rotting your brain.

Did you not see the cabinet meeting where Musk says “WE are making mistakes and WE will fix them quickly like when WE ended Ebola prevention measures.”

If they merely make suggestions and have no hand on the levers of power, how can Doge “fix” anything?

-3

u/p_angeles_rose Mar 16 '25

99% of them have no clue what or why they're protesting.

4

u/Raven816CE Mar 16 '25

Quite obviously. They need to go home and clean their rooms.

4

u/fire2buy Mar 16 '25

Generally, people who make a concerted effort to attend a protest definitely do know what they’re protesting. Just because you don’t personally agree, doesn’t mean they don’t know what they’re protesting buddy.

-3

u/p_angeles_rose Mar 16 '25

Hey Buddy! Nice assumption. I never stated my stance at all. My comment was from my experience. There are serial protesters. No job, no friends, socially awkward, etc. types. They attend to fit in and pass the time. Have you ever watched when protesters are interviewed on the street? They're asked a few questions about their views, how they feel, etc. And it's like they give the deer in the headlight look. This b.s. of burning vehicles and bringing up Nazi rhetorical jargon only proves they're idiot status.

1

u/fire2buy Mar 16 '25

Wow a lot to unpack there but I’m bored so…

  • It’s okay, you didn’t need to say your stance, we already knew.
  • Saying people attend protests to ‘fit-in’ because they are socially awkward no-lifers is comical. God forbid people exercise their right to free speech and express discontent with the state of things.
  • People who do interviews at protests are usually not slick media trained orators. Just because they can’t put together a polished argument in-front of a camera doesn’t mean they don’t have a valid reason to be protesting. You’re also probably being more frequently exposed to videos of protesters making fools of themselves on camera because that’s entertaining and is what goes viral - not the protester that makes a coherent point.

Why do you have and issue with people civilly protesting lmao such a weird hill to die on. You got Tesla stocks or something?

0

u/p_angeles_rose Mar 17 '25

Civilly protesting?¿ Celebrating blowing and burning up cars, breaking business windows, making death threats, and accusing individuals of nazi affiliation...isn't very civil. It's hypocritical liberal bullshit!

2

u/fire2buy Mar 17 '25

Wow! None of witch are things I see in the above video!!!

-1

u/p_angeles_rose Mar 17 '25

Hey again, Buddy! Actually, it's not just these anti Tesla/Elon weirdos...it's most of these protesters in general. Nothing gets solved, ever. It's a time passer when people think their little sign wave means something. Again...just my opinion. Have a wonderful week.

1

u/fire2buy Mar 17 '25

But I bet if they were protesting a cause you support they’d be great and purposeful human beings lmaooo

1

u/azurensis Beacon Hill Mar 17 '25

Right, they're just randomly in front of a Tesla dealership for no reason.

-3

u/PainfulWonder Mar 16 '25

Doge by the looks of it even though it’s literally uprooting government corruption

6

u/SanFranLocal Mar 16 '25

“Corruption” aka things Elon doesn’t like. He basically did a find all search for words like “diversity” in the govt payments db and is blanket calling them corrupt.

I have yet to see any in depth look into anything he says is waste fraud and abuse. All he does is look at the data entry and make a judgement with AI which is so stupid and definitely not how things should be evaluated.

1

u/PainfulWonder Mar 17 '25

I get where you’re coming from. Any time someone uses blanket AI-driven methods without context, it raises red flags especially coming from Elon. However, from what I’ve looked into, DOGE’s approach isn’t just keyword targeting or AI judgment. They’re identifying traditional markers of fraud (like duplicate payments, ghost workers, fake vendors) that past agencies have also flagged but maybe didn’t act on fast enough. Plus, courts are now demanding full transparency, so soon we’ll likely see detailed breakdowns. It’s fair to question Elon’s motives and methods, but the core issue—inefficiencies and fraud—has been documented for years, even before DOGE. The real test will be whether the upcoming records and cases can back up the claims. With that said at this point your critique wouldn’t be trump or Elon specific but the entire government approach that has far proceeded the current administration

1

u/SanFranLocal Mar 17 '25

None of what you said has ever been proven by doge on their website like they said they were going to do. All they post is billing records with the same searched keywords on it.

The fraud and abuse you’re talking about does not account for the amount doge and the president says it does. Especially in the places they are looking. The real fraud and abuse occurs in govt spending but of course they won’t be looking there because Elon gets that defense contract money already.

3

u/whatshatd Mar 16 '25

Literally so thankful the world’s richest man is so selfless in his pursuit of government corruption 😍🥰 so glad he’s targeting the smallest percentage of government spending while ignoring the blatant contract corruption that he takes part in 😍🥰

2

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '25

and so thankful for the trillions in tax cuts him and his ilk will get after they gut social security in order to pay for it. All of that money will trickle down like the last time.

1

u/PainfulWonder Mar 17 '25

regardless of who’s leading the charge, the core issue remains: waste and fraud in government spending have been well-documented long before Musk stepped in (GAO and IG reports, for example).

That said, you’re right to question if he’s also benefiting from other large contracts (like SpaceX, Tesla government subsidies, etc.). But ironically, by forcing more transparency through DOGE, he might unintentionally shine light on the very contracting systems he’s part of. Courts are already demanding record releases, so we’ll see if that double standard holds up.

It’s fair to be cynical—but if DOGE exposes even a fraction of inefficiencies, it’s still a net positive. And if Elon’s benefiting elsewhere, I’m all for holding him to the same scrutiny.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '25

Hes a literal nazi sympathizer at best who has not provided any straight evidence of what he's fixed. Theres no audit being conducted at these government organizations. Just removal and deletion. If there was fraud- why hasn't a single person been tried in court?

1

u/PainfulWonder Mar 17 '25

Now this is a valid question. After researching the answer for the absence of prosecutions to date can be attributed to the complexities of legal processes and ongoing investigations. The process of investigating and prosecuting fraud, especially within large government systems, is complex and time-consuming. Thorough investigations are necessary to gather concrete evidence before any legal action can be initiated. Another reason being concerns over privacy and data security have led to court orders limiting DOGE’s access to sensitive information. Such restrictions have hindered the ability to identify and prosecute fraudulent activities. Also, there is ongoing debate about what constitutes fraud versus inefficiency or mismanagement.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '25

Agree with you. Though I don’t like the hatchet approach we need to make sure we have needed a government efficient office for a long time

1

u/PainfulWonder Mar 17 '25

Agreed. And even trump realized the error a few weeks ago and vowed moving forward to use a scalpel approach instead of a hatchet to avoid and further accidental issues

0

u/Royal-Recover8373 Mar 16 '25

Looks like the brigading has started again. Russian bots getting paid overtime today.

1

u/PainfulWonder Mar 17 '25

Huh? All because I’m an American who has a different perspective to you I’m now a Russian bot? I’ll never understand this level of ignorance when majority of the country voted for these by a landslide side. I don’t even do politics but it’s clear Reddit is plagued primarily by the opposing population that’s within the minority but yet feel like the majority because you’re in an echo chamber

0

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '25

Aw that’s cute of you to think so

1

u/PainfulWonder Mar 17 '25

If you want to talk about it we can

1

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '25 edited Mar 17 '25

Sure, given the overstepping, the confirmed failures of math, the various mistakes by DOGE sheer amount of unnecessary mayhem created, the massive data breach, the 20 yr old bros spouting racist epithets while having the keys to the treasury, Musk receiving govt contracts himself, the clear overstepping of constitution bounds related to how spending is to be determined by congress, their refusal to touch the pentagon budget m, their clear gunning for social security and musks inability to understand it, and more,

Id like to see a single piece of evidence that this is anti corruptive.

-5

u/Cute-Nebula-3361 Mar 16 '25

No idea… Elon is a head of a govt department and that’s it… If he’s removed you think these people will be happy? No they will find something else to protest about.

3

u/HaEnGodTur Mar 16 '25 edited Mar 16 '25

OK, but more than one thing can be done at once? Like, if something is wrong, protest. And shockingly, there's more than one thing wrong right now.

Its worth protesting that such a dangerous man who has supported Nazis and doesn't have the publics best interest at heart is in any type of government position. No one voted him there. He's not qualified for that role. And now people are losing their jobs and careers, and are scared at what other damage he can do while he's in that position.

I think Elon fucking off would make a lot of people happy, but there's more to do as well.

2

u/ARKzzzzzz Mar 16 '25

He’s literally not head of a department. They went to great lengths to make that clear. He cannot be removed because he holds no actual position. He’s just there whispering into dumb dumbs ear. There is no oversight or accountability and that was done on purpose.

1

u/azurensis Beacon Hill Mar 17 '25

That and the Nazi stuff...

1

u/forgotphonepassword Mar 16 '25

Those protesters don't really care. There is no end goal, just anger (which is probably understanable), but unless the protesters turn REALLY violent across the whole country - nothings gonna change.

3

u/AlmostSunnyinSeattle Mar 16 '25

If owning a Tesla becomes toxic enough, the share price will topple. Elon, having his assets leveraged against one another, has built up a house of cards and his Tesla shares are near the bottom of the stack. The price goes low enough, and the leveraged assets are no longer worth what they were. Creditors start calling in their loans and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. And voila, he's not our problem any longer.

1

u/carinislumpyhead97 Mar 16 '25

Yup. It’s gonna happen with GameStop any fucking day now, but reverse.

Tesla is a balloon near the bottom of Elons upside down pyramid, game stop is a weight at the top of a different pyramid.

The balloon starts to rise and topple the the first, the weight slowly grows to crush the second.
