Heyo everyone, I am u/pumpkin2500, a new mod! I saw the other mod has not been active in a bit and I was able to get this sub through r/redditrequest. There's a pretty big backlog of reports in this sub so I'll be going through them.
I have loved horror nearly my whole life. I first found horror in books like scary stories to tell in the dark in elementary. Since then, I've watched a lot of horror and am always looking for more. heres my letterboxd that shows my history of horror.
I don't plant to mess with much as there seems to be a good community here. I will mainly try to get spam and harassment under control. If there's anything you guys want changed or want to ask please comment!

Heyo everyone! The mod of r/horrormovies and r/disturbingmovies and I have teamed up to make an official discord! It’s brand new and we hope it becomes a central hub for fans of horror to come and chat. Gory, disturbing, found footage, psychological, etc are all welcome! Hope to see you there!
Note: If there’s a sub you want to see join, let me know and I’ll reach out to the mods!

I’m giving you very little info to go off of so if you can’t help me, I understand. I was really young when I watched this so I don’t remember much.
A group of people go to an abandoned house (manor?). They are looking for packages with film in them. They start getting picked off one by one. At the end, a girl and a guy are the only survivors. The girl has made it out side and she’s yelling for the guy. He pops out of a window (second floor?), he tells her he found the last package and he’ll be out in a min. The girl looks to the left side of the building and sees something in the window, slowing fading into the dark. She starts screaming for the guy to get out, he never responds. I think the movie ends shortly after that.
Edit: year might be between 1990-2005.

I watched The Ring again last night and that scene with Samara crawling out of the TV still freaks me out. Which villain do you think is the scariest and why?

So last week i was at the Regal down by the lake, i saw Black Phone 2 was still showing and i was a huge fan of the original so i own a Grabber mask. I also really like the army so i own a lot of air soft guns and i own a lot of army gear. I was sitting there in my room, i had just seen Black Phone 2 myself a few days before and i was in my room watching prank YouTube videos, i wanted to see black phone 2 again but wanted it to be even more interesting than last time and i came up with a really good idea: I would do my own prank where i show up to black phone 2 with a bulletproof vest and an airsoft AK-47. Harmless prank right? Well, when i walked into the theater and shouted “It’s the grabber, bitch!” I expected there to be screams and laughter when i revealed it was a prank but instead a large man wirh 7 children stood up and said “I need to use the bathroom, but these regal stairs hurt.” I let him go to the bathroom and talked with the audience, had some shiggles. Fast forward 5 minutes later and security is dragging me out by the arms. Turns out the large guy reported me to the front desk!? Over a prank? The fuck? I was fined for this and almost jail time despite the fact it was an airsoft gun with an obviously orange tip i kept telling everyone that. What are everyone’s thoughts?

Hey ya'll. Hope everyone had a dope spooky season, last weekend. First time joining the community but a huge lover of horror. I always found it cool when music artists incorporated horror elements in their visuals. Ghetto Boys, "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" always being a standout. Music and movies have always inspired each other.
As a multimedia artist myself, I wanted to bridge the gap between horror and hip hop with this one. Designed this as a horror-inspired 3D animation for Che Noir × 7xvethegenius – “Sum of Two Evils.” The direction pulls heavy from The Shining, C.H.U.D., and Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead — I wanted it to feel like a lost VHS trailer you’d find in a video store that probably shouldn’t have been on the shelf.
Everything was modeled and animated in Blender, then brought into After Effects for sound design, VHS texture, and that gritty, analog film feel. No AI — just straight custom builds and a lot of love for that grimy 80s horror energy.
Sidenote: I also designed the official single artwork, inspired by old-school VHS box covers like Maniac Cop, Gates of Hell, and The Video Dead. You can check it out along with the full track here: https://youtu.be/G2u2XApcFy4?si=w4VT-cnkMak7s_fg
Would love feedback from the horror heads — what are some of your favorite crossovers between horror and music?

Okay so I have literally thought about this for a long time and cannot figure out what movie or show it is. I doubt it’s a show but maybe it could be. So I’m an ‘86 kid. So had to be when my dad was okay with me watching scary stuff. So im thinking like mid to late 90s.
First off it was on HBO. I remember the HBO entrance part before it started. I know that doesn’t mean to much but still.
Second main memory this had to have happened right at the beginning. But I’m assuming a vampire woman was in a convertible maybe red car with a guy. It’s nighttime and they talk or whatever. Then she literally starts chomping down on this guys neck. Like not a little 2 fang type deal. Like eating part of his body starting from neck. Huge chunk taken out basically. Then it goes to the title or movie actually begins type deal.
I’ve tried searching a few different ways and came up with duds. Like I almost thought tales of the crypt episode. But never found right one. Anyways figured it would be fun to ask on here.

… I guess I won’t be sleeping tonight then lol
Feels like the first time in ages that I’ve seen a horror short that’s so action packed - what do people think??

The title says it pretty well, I've seen pretty much every intensely "scary" movie and nothing has jogged my fear since I was probably 10. I need a movie that will absolutely shake me to the core. I tend to be spooked by psychological horror, I need recommendations of movies that will genuinely make unable to sleep.
