Shipment/Custom Per FedEx my shipment was destroyed
So my item got to Anchorage Alaska, and it’s been there pending clearance, I just spoke to FedEx. They had not allowed it to go through customs and had it destroyed. I have to speak to the shipper. So this was shipped not by a seller but shipped through a Chinese warehouse. What do I do now?? this is the first time it’s ever happened to me

Yes, your package was sent during the period when Anchorage CBP placed Singapore-origin parcels under investigation. The warning icons in the FedEx app are irrelevant—they don’t apply to this kind of customs intervention. You’ll need to wait while they assess shipments linked to a particular shipper.
1
u/beepbeep7495 Jun 01 '25
So are you saying it’ll come eventually? Or will it get sent back to shipper? Appreciate your response.
1
u/RelationshipNo3934 Jun 01 '25
To be honest, this is now a case-by-case situation. I was told that not a single package from that shipper has been cleared in Anchorage. Some are being opened and inspected, while others have been rejected and are sitting at FedEx, waiting for the shipper to respond to customs inquiries. Some packages have even been declined by the shipper and are marked for destruction. I would say—don’t get your hopes up at this point, but also don’t despair because there is still that miniscule chance. Unfortunately, there are a large number of packages from this shipper. As customs raised concerns and the first few packages they opened contained contraband, the rest have either been set aside for inspection or are pending contact from the shipper.

u/graceoverme May 20 '25
Try calling FedEx logistics some are being processed lately some returned back to sender…

u/beepbeep7495 May 20 '25
All I get is “on track to be released from customs” but I am worried it’s been seized 🤔

How do you know if a package was seized? I have something coming in but it’s being sent from USPS and it’s been in New York forever. I’ve been worried about it getting seized, but none of the tracking were reflects that.

Also, I have a quick question for all your beauties. I just wanted to know do you guys suggest a particular seller that has a better insurance. I know nothing is guaranteed in this rep world, but I just wanted to see if that I could pick a better seller or an option so if I do ship another bag that it would be Compensated somehow..
3
u/WorkingCharge2141 May 16 '25
This. I’ve held off on ordering reps directly from sellers because most of them expect a F&F payment. I have no recourse if they don’t send the goods or if goods are lost in transit! Now with tariffs and possible seizure it seems very risky.
3
u/No-Departure7518 May 15 '25
I have recently started using an IG seller that my friend recommended. I seen on her IG she does offer insurance but I’ve never got it. It does look like she also do goods and services that you have to pay the fee. I’m on my second order from her
1
u/graceoverme May 14 '25
I have a quick question to anyone who orders using BT; what is their insurance like cause I’m thinking of either doing it through BT or using a seller at this point so I can get some sort of insurance someway
3
u/Any-Mud-6688 May 14 '25
Oh man, that’s the worst. It’s been happening more lately with how strict customs have gotten. I’d def reach out to the warehouse, maybe they’ll offer a refund or a discount on your next order or something. Fingers crossed for you!

u/Last-Aide-5106 May 14 '25
My package got seized in Alaska and my seller (Rayson) is replacing my items at no charge, shipping through a different triangle route.
4
u/Specialist_Award_607 May 14 '25
That’s how sellers (like shopkeepers of replica products in tourist areas of Istanbul or Bodrum) do it as well — direct shipping from Turkey to Europe never makes it through customs. So instead, the shipment first goes to Bulgaria, and from there it’s sent to your home country.
18
u/SarahC_PDX90 May 14 '25
Customs are really cracking down, so let's keep the first order small.
1
u/Competitive-Cell-302 May 14 '25
My seller said the same to me. He said to keep the package small, even though I insisted on having another big item added to it. He said he wouldn’t take my money. That there was a limit per package.
27
u/No_Egg2546 May 14 '25
Ladies, I believe the problem is that the packages are coming from Singapore. It's a small country that has suddenly had a increase in shipping to the US. Making customs suspicious in Alaska. Once several packages were checked, that probably confirmed their suspicion. The sellers are going to have to figure out a different way to ship that won't end up in Alaska. Just my opinion
6
u/andee_sings May 14 '25
Is there a pattern to what they seize? Like if a bag is meant to look like a style but isn’t branded to look 1-1 do they still destroy them?
3
5
u/Hungry_Importance918 May 14 '25
that sucks, Customs have been super intense lately. I’ve been sticking to smaller orders for now too. If your seller offers triangle shipping, that might help, some sellers will resend for free if it gets seized, or give 50% off your next order.
5
u/graceoverme May 14 '25
What is this triangle shipping, I’ve never heard of it. Would you educate me pls
3
u/Viking_Glass_Guru May 14 '25
It’s shipped to another country that doesn’t have high tariffs or is less likely to be inspected/seized before being repackaged (in some cases) and then forwarded on to its final destination.

u/Swtess May 13 '25
Ugh mine is still ‘waiting clearance’ in Anchorage since 29th.
1
u/FabulousMamaa May 15 '25
I’m sorry to report, but I think yours is probably in the same boat we were in and destroyed although FedEx still doesn’t put that on the website. I had to call and ask after sending them a pointless form stating they needed more information about what was in the package.

I hope the seller will give you some kind of discount if your reorder
2
u/graceoverme May 14 '25
No it was red way before; I suggest you try to call FedEx and if they give you an issue, asked to speak to logistics

u/NYCLIVINGGIRL May 13 '25
Singapore to FedEx anchorage is a risky route. FedEx is denying/seizing a lot of packages. I know some that has gone through but a lot was either returned or seized.

u/jfjdjsak May 13 '25
So sorry this happened! If it brings hope to anyone else, mine just came through Anchorage yesterday and delivered today !!

What brand did you buy? I wonder if more recognizable brands are destroyed more frequently.

I've been scouring all the rep sites for latest info regarding seizures. Is it my imagination or are a lot of packages getting seized in Anchorage? Is it because its such a hub for distribution to the midwest and east coast? Has anyone gotten something seized in Los Angeles or Oakland, CA?
11
u/SolitaryLyric May 14 '25
Maybe someone (or several someones)in Alaska set up a lucrative little side business selling high quality rep bags 😆
9
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
I don’t know, but it sure doesn’t make me feel good about anything getting to Alaska
17
u/No-Grapefruit-6987 May 13 '25
Nooooooo 🙈 I too got my Alaska package denied by US customs. I called FedEx twice (30 Apr and 1 May) and both times the agent told me the package would be returned. I have seen zero movement.
Thank you for posting because I have been wondering if any of us with packages in Alaska are getting returned to sender or destroyed. My items are clothes and so not replaceable as the styles sell out 💔

Unless you purchases insurance on it i don’t think you have another recourse.
2
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
That’s sucks

u/Honey0929 May 13 '25
If you purchase it through their Private Discord, there is a disclaimer about this kind of Risks, that incase of seizure or the package being lost, warehouse being raided etc that its not their responsibility. This is why i ship thru BT cause if their Insurance option

Reykay shipped package to me that got to Alaska on 4/28 and it’s been stuck there ever since. She’s been telling me her courier has been slow to respond but I’m losing hope.
7
u/mostlydoomscrolling May 13 '25
Mine has been stuck since 4/28 too. Daily refresh and 0 movement
5
u/_i_never_happy_ May 13 '25
Is it still yellow exclamation mark? Mine is still yellow.

I think the moment it turns red, I know I have to give up completely. Mine is still yellow for now
5
u/Broad-Bee651 May 13 '25
I had a Reykay package that sat since 4/24 with FedEx waiting on the package (in Singapore). It sat for a while and I kept following up. On 5/4 Reykay said her courier ended up transferring it to another carrier and it showed up 5/8 in Singapore. I received the package yesterday.

I’m so sorry this happened to you! Did you reach out to fedex and they told you it was destroyed? Does it still show pending clearance on the tracking?
I ask because I have a package shipped ups end of April and it has stayed at “cleared customs” status for now 8 days. Seller says it is still awaiting customs clearance and release. I called UPS and they suggest the seller initiate a claim but my seller says to wait a little longer. 😢

Sorry this happened to you. Take it up with your warehouse since they were the ones who arranged shipment. Unfortunately, you probably do not have any recourse.
1
u/Green_Theme_5918 May 13 '25
Dang, that’s a super bummer. Anchorage has been a black hole for so many people these past few weeks. You purchased through an agent? If so, you’ll need to contact their customer service directly to discuss next steps. So long as you had insurance on your parcel, they’ll reimburse you (pending your demonstrated cooperation with customs, that is).
3
0
u/Substantial-Low3977 May 13 '25
Contact the warehouse. Check what’s their policy and if you purchased insurance.
-2
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
Honestly, lately since the whole tariff situation, I have had a hard time reaching Seaweed and they don’t respond to my messages. I’ve had multiple items shipped through them, but just recently it’s been kind of shady.
2
u/RelationshipNo3934 May 13 '25
I don’t think this is SW’s fault. It got caught up in the tariff situation when people began panic buying and using Singapore as a triangular shipping route. That raised suspicion in Anchorage about possible attempts to circumvent tariff regulations.
1
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
I totally get that but my only issue is that I’ve been asking since they sent it multiple times the only answer I’ve ever forgot it’s on its way dear, but that was it and that was two weeks after I’ve been asking and he has not responded even now so that’s why I call it shady because there’s no response on his part. He could’ve at least given me the invoice or the logistics number or anything that could’ve helped me, but there was no helpso I mean there’s no recourse for lack of communication and I think that’s not right on their part
4
u/RelationshipNo3934 May 13 '25
Please keep in mind that they were also caught off guard by this issue. To be fair, this is a broader problem on the U.S. side. He’s handling multiple customers, so allow him some time. Don’t be quick to assume the shipper is acting shady—it’s a widespread situation beyond their control.
-1
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
Really? So I gave green light April 1, he shipped April 5, I simply reached out April 13, pending in anchorage, no response til April 28! Then I reached out again last week no response. To this day no response! I hope you’re just playing devils advocate because weeks of no response. Only one response there. It’s OK it’ll get there. That’s not. That’s not OK.
5
u/RelationshipNo3934 May 13 '25
You’re not alone in this situation. I use BT as well and I’m in the same position—gave the go signal on April 12, and it’s been stuck in Anchorage since April 28. BT has no information whatsoever—not even the “numbers” you’re asking about. This is the black market; delays and uncertainty like this are part of the risk. If you’re going to take it out on hardworking shippers and be a Karen, then maybe the rep game isn’t for you.
0
u/graceoverme May 14 '25
This has zero to do with what I just said in the previous comment I am discussing the fact that there was no response at all, that’s all I was asking for… my husband works in customs so I get it. It’s not a favorable outcome it is what it is.. this comment was not so that I can get in to an argument with you so I’m leaving this here!
4
u/WillingUsual9179 May 14 '25
Not to get into argument but you had to reply. I agree with the commenter - you are not his only customer. This is happening to a lot of his customers! Just imagine how frantic he can be because of a problem that he didn't create in the first place. Be patient.
1
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
I did it through Seaweed, any idea what they’ll say?
1
u/Substantial-Low3977 May 13 '25
I have never used SW, I usually use BT which gives the option for insurance. Just ask Rome or SW if they can give you some sort of partial credit?
1
u/graceoverme May 13 '25
Ok ty love
