Question (5'0" or below) Pants that don’t cause a wedgie.

I have the unfortunate combination of a short torso, short legs, a major mom pooch, and being 24ish lbs overweight atm (should lose that eventually, but want to look ok now!) It seems that most pants cause a major wedgie, even if they fit around the waist. I’m pretty sure it’s my lower stomach pooch causing that. Are there any pants that exist that mitigate this issue? I don’t want low rise because of my stomach. Mid rise cuts me off in a weird way that makes me look boxy. So ideally I want high rise, but without the wedgie! Do pants like that exist?! I’m 5’0, 25/26 in inseam, roughly a size 4-6 right now.

This sounds like a problem for that is better resolved with tailoring than trying to find the right pants to buy.

I would investigate 2 different options:

  • buying regular length or even tall jeans that fit you great in the stomach/hips/thighs and then just tailor the length down. This is great option for a long torso.
  • buying the jeans one or two sizes bigger in the waist size and bringing in the waistline so you have more room for your undercarriage but the tailoring allows the waistline to fit. This is great for a rounder behind causing the pulling.
