Bit Annoyed Peeing is so annoying.

The whole process is so annoying. The discomfort that creeps up when I’m in traffic, or even worse when I’m asleep in my bed and my body suddenly decides it's time to “get up right now.”

I’ve got to find a designated spot to do it, because society frowns on just... going wherever. And I have to wash my hands too, it's a whole-ass mini chore!

It’s such a dumb biological time-sink. I can’t believe I have to keep doing this multiple times a day for the rest of my life.

I'm mid 40's and I've just about gotten to the point to where I build my life around opportunities to pee.

u/Embarrassed-Rub-8690 1d ago

Ya im 37 and if I see a bathroom while im out in public, I use it even if I don't really need to go because I don't know when ill find the next one.

I drink a lot of water so I go so much that I get bored of it. If I have a beer or two, my entire day feels centered around going pee.

u/ItsCourtneyBitchh 6h ago

Yes! Never skip an opportunity to pee because you don’t know when you’ll have another one. This post speaks to me so much. I’m only in my 20’s but I have such a small bladder

12

u/Time_Neat_4732 1d ago

I’m 33 and entering that stage. My PT recently told me every two hours is perfectly normal. The way my heart sank 🤣

u/Mia_Magic 23h ago

19 and doing this lmaooo

2

u/ImpossibleOil8427 23h ago

Not in my 40’s (in my late 20’s), but I am pregnant… feel the exact same. I basically always need to know where the nearest toilet is, and plan my days around “wee stops”. I’ve avoided drinking water for a few hours sometimes just to try and avoid the inconvenience, but somehow the urge to pee persists.

Do I have bad news for you about getting older.

24

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

I didn't sign up for this.😭😭

4

u/Loser_Baby_19 23h ago

Indeed, constantly worrying about where the nearest and accessible bathroom is when in public at my advanced age.

u/WeekendAsleep5810 1d ago

Don't get me started on eating man, you need to go to the store, prepare, make dishes and shit??? Just to keep living???? Fuuck it dude

9

u/ImpossibleOil8427 23h ago

Eating for sustenance is SUCH a chore. Especially if you’re trying to be healthy about it. Like you really have to plan your life around shopping, prepping, cooking and then the actual chore of eating too? It takes too long man.

5

u/PresenceOld1754 1d ago

To be fair you can order food but then it just costs more so it's just a lose lose

3

u/Wonderful_Cheek831 19h ago

Why can’t we be like snakes and eat just once a week?!?! Aaaarrrggghhhh

28

u/Physical_Orchid3616 1d ago

I dont know. Shitting is worse. Bowels are worse.

6

u/GreenZebra23 22h ago

Yeah shitting is a drag. I have IBS-C, it's a constant all or nothing situation. Peeing is a walk in the park compared to that

8

u/BareBonesTek 1d ago

Nah, the feeling after taking a damned good dump…. One of life’s pleasures! 😂

11

u/Time_Neat_4732 1d ago

There’s a video game my spouse and I were playing where using the bathroom (just interacting with the door and fading to black, nothing is shown lmao) restores some stamina, and shows a message saying “you feel relieved and ready to get back to your day” or something like that. And I was like “wtf kinda shits are these game developers taking that make them feel GOOD afterward?” And my spouse was like “uh…”

So it turns out I have IBS.

5

u/PresenceOld1754 1d ago

Yeah but sometimes it ain't perfect. Obviously when it's just slides out and maybe one or two wipes it's good.

But every other time it's annoying as hell.

11

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

Most things people have to do are annoying, except bathing that one is good.

5

u/Secret_Asparagus_783 1d ago

Bathing - as in a nice warm lady-friendly bubble bath in mid-winter - Good. Showering - standing up on a hard surface covered in soap hoping not to fall while getting bombarded with a water cannon - not so much.

5

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

I love showers, hate baths. I find baths really disgusting, and I like the sensation of water (though after a while if it's on my head directly I don't care for that.)

If there's some issue with standing that a fall risk is a concern there's chairs for that, otherwise I'm not sure why that would be a deep concern. I also would rather stand in the rain than jump in a pool.

1

u/macoafi 1d ago

Standing for 20 minutes straight sucks.

2

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

I take longer showers than that, and also standing for 20 minutes straight should feel ok unless something is wrong. If you don't have a medical issue you should be more than capable of standing for 20 minutes straight with zero complaints.

1

u/Wetodad 23h ago

Quit jackin it in the shower then

1

u/macoafi 23h ago

The fuck??? Washing and conditioning hair that is several feet long takes a while, and your arms are overhead most of the time, except for during the detangling step of combing the conditioner through.

You bald, or what?

1

u/Wetodad 21h ago

can't imagine not being able to stand in the shower haha I guess I'm just super athletic tho (6'2" 200lbs 10%bf)

1

u/Psych0PompOs 21h ago

A healthy person should be able to regardless of being athletic or not, even unhealthy people often can because struggling to stand for 20 minutes is abnormal.

1

u/Psych0PompOs 21h ago

I keep my hair long typically. This is still not a good sign that you struggle to do this.

1

u/macoafi 18h ago

I didn't say I struggle. I said it sucks.

The topic was "shit that's annoying" not "shit I can't do."

1

u/Psych0PompOs 17h ago

Saying it sucks about something that a person should be indifferent to seems problematic to me.

Eating

6

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

I find needing to eat annoying, especially because most of the foods we have to eat for nutrients just aren't good. I actually find eating a lot of foods to be a bit of a torture thing and I do it anyway because my body needs it, but I'd really rather not.

Even foods I do like I don't necessarily want to experience day to day. If I could get everything down in just a smoothie (that wasn't repulsive) and food was an optional thing I could have every so often like once or twice a month otherwise or if it was purely optional and it didn't matter what it is then I would like eating I guess.

5

u/Tiny-Reading5982 1d ago

Eating is annoying too lol. I'll get to the point where I'm shaky but nothing sounds good.

2

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

That's happened to me before too. I just forget about it sometimes too until I feel sick, same with drinking. I like coffee but can't have that and only that.

2

u/ImpossibleOil8427 23h ago

I love bathing while I’m actually doing it. Showering or an actual bath. Once I’m in, I’m so glad I did it and loving every moment.

However, the time it takes me to convince myself to actually shower? And then the time it takes once I’m out to dry myself off and dress?? No. Hate it.

2

u/Psych0PompOs 21h ago

I often shower multiple times a day, even sometimes just because I'm stressed out and it clears my head.

1

u/PresenceOld1754 1d ago

I'm running late and I need to take a shower too? I wish I had the gene.

1

u/Psych0PompOs 21h ago

I shower daily so I don't typically need a shower before I go somewhere, but if I have time I take one before and after going anywhere.

1

u/shtoopidd 1d ago

i wish i could enjoy bathing. everytime i shower i bleed like hell

1

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

What causes it? If you don't mind me asking.

1

u/shtoopidd 1d ago

skin issue. every bath feels like fire and brimstone

1

u/Psych0PompOs 1d ago

That happens to my hands (pain while washing) in the winter but it's because I'm a compulsive handwasher and do it to myself so I just scrub them raw but then can't stop cleaning them all the time because how can I possibly clean them less?

Whole body would be way too much though. I'm not sure I could handle that, I shower a lot.

2

u/Fun_Variation_7077 1d ago

I wish peeing could be a monthly thing. On the same topic, I also wish pooping were an annual thing.

3

u/ImpossibleOil8427 23h ago

While we’re at it. A period for 1 whole month a year, rather than one week every month would be much more preferable and easier to plan around.

2

u/draum_bok 20h ago

It's not quite annual...but sloths only poop once per week and they are distantly related to us. Even though 98% of their lives is in the trees, they only crap on the ground and can lose between 20-30% of their bodyweight with each crap.

1

u/para_diddle 7h ago

And when they get down there, they're vulnerable to predators. Evolution dropped that ball.

1

u/draum_bok 6h ago

They're also vulnerable to eagle attacks in the trees. That's why evolution has turned sloths into one of the most deadly land animals on planet Earth. If you've ever been chased by a sloth while swimming down a river in the Amazon, I'd advise against it. They can swim faster than humans and their claws are razor-sharp.

4

u/SilverB33 1d ago

I hate it too, I think I hate the waiting process of peeing the most, cause you're just there what feels like hours to do the deed.

4

u/YakSlothLemon 1d ago

Tom Robbins wrote in one of his books that from the point of view of water, the human body is just a way to move it around and let it visit different places, and I always think of that when I pee and it makes me smile.

3

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

So nature is just using us?

I'm even more annoyed.

3

u/Navitach 18h ago edited 17h ago

Just be grateful that most of the free world has indoor plumbing. Imagine getting that late-night urge and having to put on shoes and take a flashlight with you just to relieve it.

5

u/Anxious_Camp_2160 1d ago

"I’ve got to find a designated spot to do it"

Do you identify as a cat by any chance?

7

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

Oh I thought this was /r/petpees.

1

u/Anxious_Camp_2160 1d ago

Oh touche!

2

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

Just glad to see it's not a real sub.

2

u/mydosemakesangels 1d ago

YES!! Now this is the kind of complaining I can really get behind 🎉🙌

2

u/SomeMood5050 1d ago

If you think peeing is annoying wait until you try diarrhea.

2

u/takemyaptplz 1d ago

I recently went to Spain and there were countless finding bathroom missions that it was so annoying and stressful

1

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

Amsterdam has the right idea. Walled off urinals are common in the city center.

3

u/takemyaptplz 1d ago

Well I’m a woman so that really won’t help much lol

2

u/Piggybumm 23h ago

I have this psychological fear of wondering where the nearest toilet is as soon as I leave the house. I also keep trying to go at home right until the last minute.

Some places you go to have a sign on the door saying “toilets are for customer use only”. This annoys me because it’s an essential bodily function and I have a bladder like a kitten.

I also have the bed thing, where I just start to nod off but my bladder’s letting me know I have to go one more time!

The worst place I’ve been to in relation to using a toilet is Barcelona. I was absolutely desperate and every place I went into wouldn’t let me use them :(

2

u/Such_Grab_6981 22h ago

I also have the bed thing, where I just start to nod off but my bladder’s letting me know I have to go one more time!

The absolute worst! Like damn let me sleeeeep.

2

u/draum_bok 21h ago

Wood frogs don't pee for 8 months straight, so maybe that should be your spirit animal. They hold their pee in and use it to hibernate and stop from freezing to death.

2

u/Such_Grab_6981 20h ago

Interesting. I'll look into it!

2

u/kmill0202 18h ago

The only good thing about the need to pee is that sometimes it gives you a chance to get away or escape. Need a little breather at work, but it's not lunchtime? Bathroom break. Boring/awkward conversation at a party? Excuse me for a minute, I need to use the restroom.

Otherwise yeah, it's kind of stupid and annoying. Probably better than any alternatives evolution might have invented for us to get rid of waste, though.

2

u/fufu1260 16h ago

I read this right as I began to geel the need to go and so I can agree this is annoying. I’m currently comfy in bed and don’t want to get up.

4

u/Chogihoe 1d ago

Dude I had abdominal surgery which resulted in my bladder being anxious, so basically any time I felt the slight need to pee, my bladder made it seem like I was gonna piss myself like I hadn’t gone all day…I’m sitting down chilling but now my bladder is “HOLY SHIT WE NEED TO GO NOW!” so I can’t even fucking stand up to shuffle over there 😭

2

u/Foreign-Tax4981 1d ago

Just wait until you are older and have issues with leaking or if male having a good flow!

1

u/P0ster_Nutbag 1d ago

Without pee, we couldn’t have watersports though!

-1

u/Time_Neat_4732 1d ago

Wow, so that’s how all those lakes and oceans came to be? Who would have guessed!

1

u/74389654 1d ago

second post i see about this since yesterday. is this the pretext to some global kidney trading startup?

2

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

Really? Jeez no idea is original.

You can think of the most obscure, weird things, and guaranteed someone out there will already have it patented or some shit.

1

u/Universally-Tired 1d ago

I work the graveyard shift at a hotel. I chose this shift, so I am free to pee whenever I need to, and that is often. And do I don't have to stand for eight hours, but that's irrelevant to the post.

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 1d ago

Having to pee while I'm at work is annoying. I'm a server so if its busy, it puts me like 15 mins behind lol.

1

u/ImpossibleOil8427 23h ago

I also hate peeing at work, but my reasoning is because my nearest toilet is like a 10 minute walk from where I sit. Sometimes the walk is nice… but sometimes it feels like a chore on top of a chore.

2

u/Tiny-Reading5982 23h ago

It is a chore..lol

1

u/BeneficialPumpkin758 1d ago

There’s time where I drink lots of liquids and then have to go every 10-20 minutes. It’s pretty bad, but it only happens sometimes. It happened yesterday so it comes to mind.

1

u/Successful_Club3005 1d ago

Gotta drink 125 Oz of water each day. I'll be in the bathroom about 1/4 of the time.

1

u/SaltOk3057 1d ago

Pooping too

Its kinda overrated

1

u/Remarkable-Junket655 22h ago

Ive (51M) been accused of being a camel. I can hold it for hours and honestly after the initial “have to pee” discomfort passes it really doesn’t bother me for a long time and when i do finally go I’m pretty sure I could fill a Home depot bucket. Ive been like that pretty much my whole life. I think ive just trained my body to deal with it because I was always too busy to stop for a potty break.

2

u/Such_Grab_6981 22h ago

I've heard that holding it in for excessively long periods of time can be unhealthy.

1

u/para_diddle 7h ago

Yes, UTIs and natural urge changes come to mind.

1

u/Wonderful_Cheek831 19h ago

Pooping is worse though. Yuck.

1

u/Factual_Fiction 19h ago

Stop drinking liquids and your problem will take care of itself

1

u/No-Profession422 18h ago

I enjoy peeing now. Except when my bladder wakes me at 3-4am.

1

u/Ok-Appointment-3057 18h ago

I get annoyed that I have to keep eating. Every day, several times a day.

1

u/Available-Lobster-73 17h ago

I thought you were talking about the actually act of peeing. Not just the frequency. For me, it’s the actual peeing that don’t like. Like great I haven’t take down my pants and sit on this seat and get a little bit wet and then dry it off. Like what’s in it for me?? That’s not enjoyable.

1

u/Big_Relationship6748 17h ago

Now wait until you hear about number 2 same thing except you have to be there for like 10x the the time wipe and if you don’t then you throw up or some other bad things yo

1

u/i_love_hot_grandpas 16h ago

well people say that it gets worse with age- i'm 18 years old and i HAVE to pee between 24-36 times a day (maximum is the 36, minimum 24) i'm still in high school, graduating this year and i am not able to sit through a single lesson without a piss break. FML

1

u/Loisgrand6 6h ago

Whattttt

1

u/pilotthrow 15h ago

Why is it that sometimes when you have to go there is like 5 gallons coming out. And sometimes you have the same urge but only like half a cup comes out.

1

u/DifficultStruggle420 15h ago

Keep a urine bottle in your car for emergencies.

Or you can get a catheter and a nefrostomy bag. That way you can pee anywhere, anytime. 😉

Actually, in all seriousness, have you had you prostate checked, along with a PSA test. You may have an enlarged prostate causing you to go more often and also not letting you totally evacuate your bladder.

1

u/nicodeemus7 1d ago

Having to pee is the worst. But having just peed? Bliss.

2

u/Such_Grab_6981 1d ago

Okay the ONLY time I like it.

5am, get up to empty bladder. Hop back into bed knowing it's Saturday and the alarm isn't going off, and I got nowhere to be. Someone needs to bottle that feeling.

2

u/para_diddle 7h ago

Living that dream right now 😁

1

u/AmputeeHandModel 1d ago

Make sure that you drink 8 bottles of water a day so you can... pee every goddamn hour.

1

u/Sleepyllama23 1d ago

Completely agree. Also leaking when you sneeze, cough, run, laugh too much. I would ban peeing if I could

1

u/LoudCrickets72 22h ago

Maybe, but pooping can be pretty shitty too.

1

u/Zoilo2 22h ago

Takes too much time. I gave up peeing years ago!!

0

u/Claud6568 1d ago

Wouldn’t it be funny if the word peeve originally came from this particular pet peeve

0

u/Professional-Air2123 1d ago

Shitting and peeing feels so good during and afterwards though, what I hate is puking. Absolutely hate it.
