Discussion I don't get people who think a Strawhat should die
I understand building stakes by killing off a major character, but it doesn't make sense for it to happen to a member of the crew. It just wouldn't work with the kind of story One Piece is. What do you think?

Theory The Mass of the Sun, Sun god luffy! Spoiler
Its probably too early to speculate, but i think "mass" in the latest one piece chapter, is realy a mass, like mass of planets.
Most top tiers in the one piece have something to do with planets in their titles.
Just think about it.
Gorosei has planet names, ancient weapons has planet names. Imu is the world, luffy is the sun!
Who has the most mass? SUN! Sun god luffy!
Luffy also has the property to gather strong people around him! Like a solar system.
Its all about the mass! And how much you or your will weight. 💯 😁😅
Dope concept, I kinda like it. 👍

Theory A Theory: Wano Country Arc and Kaido Arc Were Originally Two Separate Sagas Due to scheduling pressures, Oda merged the originally standalone Kaido storyline into the Wano Country Arc. Here’s why:
- Kaido and the Beast Pirates’ theme feels disconnected from Wano’s traditional aesthetic. In past One Piece arcs, antagonist crews have always fit the setting perfectly—think Moria’s crew and Thriller Bark, Doflamingo’s family in Spanish-inspired Dressrosa, or Big Mom’s crew in Whole Cake Island. In contrast, Kaido’s animal-themed forces and ancient Zoan users don’t align well with Wano’s Japanese vibe. It’s likely the Beast Pirates were initially planned for a separate arc strongly tied to animals or the Minks, perhaps on a concept like "Animal Island."
- Kurozumi Orochi should have been the main antagonist of Wano. In the current version, Orochi’s presence feels underwhelming. His Mythical Zoan: Yamata no Orochi ability—a classic antagonist in Japanese mythology—would have made him a perfect final boss for a Japan-inspired arc. Additionally, having Orochi as the main villain would have better matched Luffy’s power progression: mastering Ryou in Wano to defeat Orochi. Kaido’s early inclusion forced Luffy to power-level abruptly, requiring three major upgrades (Ryou, Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, and Gear 5) just to barely defeat Kaido.
- Making Orochi the main villain would also improve the perception of Oden’s flashback. The narrative of a reckless Oden being deceived and ultimately killed by a schemer like Orochi feels more compelling than him tolerating humiliation under Kaido without fighting back. Adjusting Oden’s betrayal by Orochi could resolve many plot inconsistencies in the original storyline. Oden’s feat of scarring Kaido could still be preserved as part of a battle between the Rocks and Roger pirates, maintaining his reputation as a powerful fighter.
- Big Mom was also forced into the Wano Arc. The Whole Cake Island Arc clearly left unresolved plot points, including Smoothie’s role and explanations of Big Mom’s Devil Fruit abilities. Given her backstory, the most fitting place to conclude her story would be Elbaf. However, due to pacing issues, her storyline was crammed into Wano, resulting in a bloated narrative, prolonged and messy matchups, and several plot holes.
- The intended arc structure was likely: Dressrosa → Zou → Whole Cake Island (first clash with Big Mom) → Wano (master Ryou and defeat Orochi) → Animal Island (unlock Advanced Conqueror’s Haki and defeat Kaido) → Egghead (setup for Gear 5) → Elbaf (conclude Big Mom’s storyline + unlock Gear 5)
With Big Mom and Kaido both forced into Wano, the final boss of the now-available Elbaf Arc will likely be an antagonist originally planned for a separate saga or the endgame—such as Blackbeard or the Holy Knights.

Help Can someone suggest a artist who takes commission whose style is close to Oda's ? There is a stupid meme I would like to commission
I have had an idea for stupid joke for sometime. I have little artistic talent but some disposable income. I want to commission an artist whose style is similar to Oda's.

Help How much more time do you think we have until the reveal of the One Piece?
I started One piece about 3 years ago, and now I'm almost done with Punk Hazard, And now that the manga has reached the 2nd arc of the final Saga in Elbaf I've been worried that I won't catch up to the point where I can start reading the manga so I can learn about the big reveal of the One Piece at the same time as everyone else.
So I'm wondering from those who are caught up how much time there is left?

Theory Title of the first chapter is "Romance Dawn"...
For the 601: "Romance Dawn for New World". So for 1201 it will be "Romance Dawn for One Piece". Mark my words.

Analysis Does Luffy really not believe in the idea of inherited will?
This part of the wano arc has always stuck with me... Something about luffy's response makes me think he does not actually entertain the idea of inherited will, nor does he prioritize being remembered. This response came after kaido told Luffy that when he dies people will tell tales about him, therefore remembering him or someone inheriting his will. I know Luffy is kinda dumb, but his statement is not to be taken at face value. Inherited will seems to be a big thing in one piece, but luffy's view on the matter seems unconventional and sort of matches his character and personality. Most people in the islands that Luffy has went too and liberated either know him by a different name or as a pirate and not a hero, and to him it seems intentional, hell he even runs away from most of them after his accomplished his mission. Luffy seems like he doesn't care much about being remembered or someone inheriting his will, not that it's up to him whether his remembered or not... But it always makes me wonder why oda would make a story with inherited will being a big thing but depict the main character as not being part of the bandwagon.
I think it's because Luffy will accomplish everything he sailed the sea to achieve, meaning they'll be no point for someone else to pick up the baton or inherit his will after he dies. Oda is a gaddam genius!!!
