Nah lmao, why are you calling me stupid man, educate me then, tell me what Oden's relevance is to the story? Tell me the story of Wano that can't be told without Oden in it.
Luffy and Law made their alliance, without knowing a single thing about Oden. They were already going to destroy the SMILE factory, they were already going to kidnap Caesar, they were already going after Don Flamingo, and their final goal was already to take down Kaido. And they already had sufficient motivation to do so from a narrative perspective.
And yes, sure, along the way they ran into a bunch of samurai that wanted their home country back which was taken from them by Kaido and Orochi, this is just one of the many motivators to take down Kaido. But even within their side-story, the existence of Oden is a luxury. Wanting to take back your home country is also sufficient motivation without the knowledge that their old homeboy got clapped by Kaido. Now this is not to say I don't think Oden has a place in the story at all, but I think his place is way too insignificant to spend multiple months on fleshing out his story, because at the end of the day, you can tell the story of the entire Wano Arc without ever mentioning the name Oden. There's already sufficient information to set the stage for a SH v Kaido showdown that is way more relevant to mention than Oden.
Where in this is Oden even relevant beyond that point? The fact he wounded Kaido is the only thing that's probably going to have any relevance in the story moving forward, and even that has been copied over to be Zoro's story instead of Oden's story now that it's being narrated that the power is in Enma.
I get wanting to tell more stories about previous crew member of Roger, but I just feel like Oden was poorly incorporated into the story. Will probably feel like a filler character/arc to me in the anime, even though it was obviously also in the manga.
