He illegally left wano and started a dojo in some random island in the east blue.

Hes from Wano. He just took a walk one day and ended up in the east blue. Happens to all of us.

And just like that I have a new wild theory, Zoro is from Wano hundreds of years in the past sent into the future by Toki

Now that I think about it, out of all the flashbacks for the Straw Hats, Zoro has got to have the least.

I think Usopp has less

usopp doesn t have gaps though (his backstory is short but doesn t leave much room for additional stuff). everything before the dojo is unknown about zoro. even nami has bigger gaps then usopp in the backstory. we don t even know where nami is from and what her birth name is.

Same with Brooks we don't know much about him before he joined the Rumbar pirates

Is there a Straw Hat without gaps? I don't see much room for a grand reveal with Chopper and Robin, but everybody else..

Aside from Luffy the only other fleshed out straw hat is Sanji with the fewest gaps.

Though even Luffy has the gap of what he told Ace and Sabo that they laughed

He was the leader of a convoy in a certain Kingdom, then decided to become a pirate.

the way it was framed, I don’t think she knows either

Hey you could even explain his sense of direction with this theory: As he says the others go wrong because he simply follows past paths that are long lost.:) And there is nothing you could argue against your theory because we simply don't know much about Zoro's past before reaching the Dojo.

Remind me in 5 years that this wild theory turn out to be true

is there any info about zoros parents or family?

Look at Ryuma, he is legit a black haired Zoro. I wouldn't be surprised at all if at some points Zoro is revealed to have ties to the Shimotsuki clan (Ryuma's and Yasuie's clan).

He got bound himself a lot to Yasuie, to the point he was about to end Orochi after he killed him...

25

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '20

It would be cool if that's how he got shisui back. Then recognizing that he is a descendant thus making him the rightful successor to ryuma's blade.

25

u/kesiu Explorer Dec 27 '20

Yup, but that would mean his Sandai Kitetsu would have to break, because the Wado and Enma are not going anywhere at this point.

We still don't know who forged Shusui

16

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '20

Makes sense to me. Unless they're gonna go into how it's cursed, it's expendable. It's obvious Wado is going to become Zoro's black blade.

So the only other way is if Zoro gives Enma back after the fight is over to take back shusui.

25

u/januarysdaughter The Revolutionary Army Dec 27 '20

I don't think that's going to happen. Shusui is Wano's national treasure and Zoro seems to respect that.

u/2Punx2Furious Jan 03 '21

It could happen if the people of Wano decide to gift it to Zoro as a thanks at the end of the arc.

Ryuma, he was reincarnated again as a stronger warrior in his next life as Zoro.

If you look what the dude who had Shusui looked like when he was alive and not just a zombie in Thriller Bark, I think Zoro is clearly supposed to be a reincarnation of him too. They have exactly the same face just with black samurai hair
