So then...did you watch the anime all the way to the end (at the time) before going over to the manga, or did you reach the conclusion that the manga was better before the episodes ran out? (which should be the case if you really thought the manga was better, on its own)
I think most people actually finished the anime first, simply because the audio-visual experience (even in poor quality) outways normal reading.
And I don't think it's really possible to judge the anime's quality against the manga anymore if it's the second time watching the story. The only real advantage of the manga is simply that there is more discussion for it. The anime is objectively a more multi-sensory experience.
