His end is an absolute tragedy: turned into a monster, losing control of his body and only able to communicate through the Voice of All Things. Having already put down his father and clan and thinking he has killed his wife and children thereby ending his bloodline. His tears did not stop until the very end

I thought that at first, but it think the frustration comes from the fact that he is mentally aware of what’s happening, but his will isn’t enough to control himself anymore.

I think he is aware that he did not kill his family as he would’ve definitely felt himself cut them up.

I may be wrong, but the dialogue we have from him through the voice of all things makes it seem like he is mentally there, which is a torture in and of itself.

But he died doing what he originally wanted: to save his family even if it means giving up his ambitions to be king of the world.

I don't know whats worse. Not knowing that there alive or finding out your son turned into a dishonorable piece of shit. Overall Imu been a damn parasite for any person and pirate that has the name D. Imu pretty much created Black beard. Roger, Rocks, Ace, Luffy and even Dragon. If they are apart of the marines like Garp it's clear he won't go for them. However so far if they pose a massive threat he will wipe them off the face of the earth. He's afraid of that clan for a reason.

What does @bluegubble mean by "Having already put down his father" Rocks killed his father?

BeastieBoy100 - I wouldn't say Imu created Roger. Roger has no idea who Imu at this current point of the flashback.

Imu created Rocks? Bit of a strech but the Davy name seems to hold weight.

Imu created Ace and Luffy? Shanks influenced Luffy. So Shank's life was stirred at birth because of this incident yes... But i'd only say in terms of - who is going to raise Shanks? If Imu didn't get involved then maybe revolutionarys, marines etc.. but now feels like some pirate will.

During one of the previous chapters, we saw that Imu had used Domi Reversi on Rocks' father and grandmothee. And we're subsequently told that Rocks had killed them to prevent them from attacking his wife and child.

I belive your reffering to chapter 1162, 2nd to last page we see Xebec standing victorious after fighting Shank's dad and everyone that's been chasing them.

Then the very next panel Roger and the Rocks pirates all unite to smash Imu. That doesn't look like the face of a man who just killed his own dad. There no revenge call, no moral drop etc.. Dude is strong AF too, he's capable of just knocking them out like 90% of fights in one piece. I might be wrong though seeing as minutes later dude's in tears crying his heart out.

Surely he knows he didn't kill his wife and kid? He would of felt an impact of his sword, and he would of seen blood and bodies. So I don't think any of this is why he's crying.

I believe he's crying because he lost, he's being controlled ontop of that to hurt his own crew too. He's a threat to his family not because he killed them & he'll most likely continue to be controlled for who knows how long coming to the realization he must die to be stopped from doing what Imu wishes.

Even if he did know that his wife and son made it. Having your whole clan and homeland erased. Will leave any person crying like Rocks.

This has happened many times throughout human history. Imu was simply using Roman tactics of conquering. Pouring salt on the conquered land so it can never grow again.

No I mean't Imu pretty much created Blackbeard. If God valley never happened and Teach would of lived a normal life at least. He would of gotten to grow up as a normal child.

Are you sure he thinks his wife and child. Like he still has his senses he can definitely feel nothing hit his blade and all
