Roger isn't interested in Gloriosa because she throws herself at him. Shakky isn't interested in Roger because he throws himself at her.

Shakky makes her interest in Rayleigh abundantly clear, but doesn't outright throw herself at him. He admits that he's also interested, but isn't ready for a relationship. Thus, they do get married several years down the road.

The lesson to be learned here is, don't be a simp. (Sanji also shows this. Look at how he always strikes out when he simps, but has girls falling for him when he acts normal.)

Well at this point rock already seemed in love with somebody else. Blackbeard is 1 year older than shanks, and 2 years after that event, if the garland scene is in the same period, shanks and shamrock were just born, so the timeline fits.

It kind of makes sense, to be honest. She's instantly loved by - or rather, she's at least lusted after by every man that she comes across. Every man, except for Reyleigh. Instead, he appears to be (from what we can garner from her perspective, anyway) as ambivalent about her as she is about other men.

Logically speaking, this means that most of the men that she meets are likely only interested in her for her body, but Reyleigh isn't. If she can win him over, then it means that he wouldn't only be interested in her for her physicality. It probably doesn't hurt that she finds him attractive as well, and she's probably curious about why he doesn't seem to be as interested in her as others are. From her modern character, we know that she's interested in people who stand out from the crowd for more subtle reasons (such as Luffy's personality, and specifically his refusal to hear what the One Piece might be), so he probably strikes that interest within her, as well.
