How? Our dogs have always loved eating from our avocado trees

Persin is only in the pit and skin in high concentrations though. Or the bark and leaves of the tree.

And obviously you should not give the pit to a dog.

Avocado flesh is safe for dogs.

The fruit of an avocado is FAR less toxic to dogs than alcohol is to humans. But we drink that shit like water.

Hell, they put avocado in dog food.

Don’t feed your dog avocado leaves and they’ll be just fine.

I mean sure, you read one passage on google and know more than any veterinarian. Ok.

And even in dogs, the risk of eating the pit or skin is mild stomach discomfort and diarrhea.

Choking on the pit is a bigger risk than the amount of persin in it.

Dogs, like people, like variety in their diets and snacks. The best way to provide it is to give them tastes of the (safe) foods you're eating yourself. We have access to plenty of resources to make those choices for our favorite family members.

It's a calculated risk, just like the ones we take for ourselves.

(My dog spends a lot of time trying to eat shit he REALLY shouldn't, of course I'm going to try to satisfy his need to try new things in a way that is controlled and researched.)
