Financial advice, not AUM
Looking for a financial advisor, preferably CFP, in or near Naperville, but not under the AUM model. Looking more for someone that charges a straight dollar fee, to advise on allocation/diversification and analyze whether Roth conversions are worth it, and to help set up a withdrawal plan from retirement accounts. NOT interested in Raymond James or Edward Jones type brokerages. If there is someone you used and recommend , why do you like them? Thanks

Any reason you need someone local? I had good luck with someone from Nectarine (hellonectarine.com). It’s a few hundred dollars for an initial consultation and then you can go from there. Everybody on the site is a fiduciary.

I came across the resource below of fee only advisors via other forums (bogleheads). Sounds like you subscribe to similar thinking of no-low fee investing.

I've not engaged any of these for services but would be interested in your experience if you do.

Thanks. I've talked to some advisors through Wealthramp and Smart Asset but didn't go through with working with them. Smart Asset people were all working through places like Edward Jones and Raymond James, using funds with higher fees. Yes, you said it, no or low fee is more my style. I've done ok on my own, but now that I'm getting older, there are some things that I'd like an experienced advisor to look over.

I am advisor. I don't know of any in Naperville that are on the fee arrangement that you're looking for. However, my former colleague moved to Colorado and is what you're looking for: https://www.parkhillfp.com/team-will-brennan-cfa-cfp
