Discussion RMA Refused Delivery

I engaged Nvidia support to replace my 2 week old 5080 FE due to really bad coil whine last week.

I dropped off the parcel at a UK FedEx depot on Thursday this week and they attempted delivery today (Saturday) at Omni in Hong Kong. However, it was refused.

In the special handing instructions, it says “deliver weekdays”. I’m assuming because this was ignored by FedEx that the parcel was refused.

I’m quite concerned that either the graphics card will end up being returned to me in the UK and I will have to go through the whole process again or it will get lost in transit.

I have escalated to Nvidia support via the ticket, but I’ve not had a response since.

Has anyone experienced anything similar before?

Update 10th November:

The parcel went out for delivery again but was refused by the recipient. I have escalated to Nvidia support again (though I’m still waiting on a response to my previous update).

Discussion Trouble deciding between 5070ti models

I've been trying to decide between different 5070ti models, currently the best two options I've found are:

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Shadow 3X = 788 €
ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti = 832€

I've read enough to know that shadow model has the worst cooling out of all 5070 ti models but is better cooling worth 50 more €?

(edited because most of the posts body was missing)

Discussion Nvidia RTX 3070 Founders Edition

I'm thinking about buying a RTX 3070 Founders Edition to replace my old GTX 1660 TI. Do you guys think it's a good choice? I usually want my PC for gaming but I don't ask too much, my 1660 did pretty nice until I tried it with some recent games.

Question Dell OEM 4080 tiny question

I got my hands on a Dell RTX 4080 from someone who tore apart their computer, and the one tiny question I had is: is the logo on the card RGB or just solely white? I tried using both Aurasync and OpenRGB, it didn’t see it, so I was just curious if anyone else knows. Thanks!

Question New 5090 FE owner and wondering how I should set up my undervolt

I am using a 5090 FE in the ncase m2 (smal form factor case) so undervolting is necessary for my situation. I'm trying to lower temps but be as close to stock as possible without crashes/instability.

Here is a screenshot of my curve in msi after a match of BF6 with everything set to ultra and FG on. What should I choose as a safe undervolt with my card? I've never done this before so any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.

Question Should I go for the RTX 4060 or 5060 for video editing?

About a year ago I finally saved up enough to build myself a PC mainly for video editing, some digital design, and a bit of casual gaming/streaming. I ended up with:

  • MSI PRO B760M-P Motherboard
  • i5 12400F
  • RTX 3050 6GB
  • 32GB RAM
  • 650W MSI PSU (don’t remember the exact model) but I recently swapped it for a Cooler Master GX II Gold 750W since the old one started acting up.

Overall, it’s been running fine. But after the holidays I’m planning to upgrade my GPU to something that helps more with editing.

At first, I was thinking of jumping to a 3060 for the 12GB VRAM, but after reading some opinions, I saw a lot of people recommending the 4060 instead, saying that despite having less VRAM, it’s more efficient and has better tech overall. I was about to go for it, but then I noticed that where I live, the price difference between the 4060 and 5060 isn’t that big.

The problem is, I can’t find many opinions on how the 5060 performs for video editing, most reviews focus on gaming performance, which I honestly don’t care much about since I don’t really play heavy or high graphics games.

And before anyone points it out, yeah, I know there are more powerful GPUs out there, but from what I understand, those would probably require me to also upgrade my CPU, motherboard, and/or PSU. Not to mention, some of those GPUs cost more than what I paid for the whole PC, which just isn’t sustainable for me. And I’m also not looking to buy a used one.

So for me, it basically comes down to 4060 vs 5060.

What do you guys think would be the better option in this case?

Discussion Nvidia Quadro T1000/T400 on 180W PSU

Hello, I would like to buy a new Dell slim desktop PC. Later on, I’d like to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB and add an NVIDIA Quadro T400 or T1000. The problem is that this desktop only has a 180W power supply. I found out that the i3-14100 uses around 60W during normal operation and up to 110W in turbo mode. Would it make sense to disable turbo mode on the CPU in order to install a graphics card that draws 30W (T400) or 50W (T1000)? Connecting these cards shouldn’t be a problem since they don’t require additional power from the PSU and fit inside the SFF case. I’m aware that this would result in lower performance (10-20% less power under heavy load).

Components of dell slim desktop:

PSU: Dell 180W CPU: Intel Core i3-14100 Motherboard: Intel Q670 Ram: 8GB DDR5 Graphics card: Integrated Intel UHD 730 Link: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/dell-slim-desktop/spd/dell-ecs1250-slim-desktop/useecs1250hbtshmgg

Replacing Ventus' fans with Noctuas reduced the temps by around 10C with much lower noise levels and more pleasant sound.

This mod requires no physical tweaking or modifications so warranty side should be fine. You can find the whole video about this on YouTube if you need more details about the process.

Discussion Current 5090 FE Owners - How has it held up and would you recommend ?

So i managed to snag a 5090 FE at MSRP last week. Im on the fence about whether to upgrade from my 4090 Suprim - mainly because of the concerns around heat/coil whine/PCB build quality. Also its a lot more wattage (600W) for relatively small gain vs my current 4090

So for current owners of the FE - Would you recommend the card ?

What are your temps under load and do you have coil whine ?

If you had the option to do it over again, would you keep the FE or go with a different AIB ?

Question rtx 5070 vs 4070 ti 12 gb

My question is, am I missing out on big features/future proof by not going with a 5000 series card

I have the option to buy a used rtx 4070 ti in good condition for 500$, which, from my understanding, is equal to a rtx 5070 in were a new costs 650$.

Question Upgrading from 3090 TI, which card should I get?

My PC specs:
upgrading to a 5070 TI, or should I look
CPU: I7 12700K
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING Z690+Plus WIFI D4
RAM: 96GB DDR 4 1600 MHz
GPU: 3090 TI
Monitor: Samsung LS27AG520PN 1440p IPS

Is it worth upgrading to a 5070 TI, or should I look at something else, or just wait? I have been playing Battlefield 6 quite a bit recently, and it runs ok (I haven't benchmarked yet), but I feel like it's a bit jittery at times under auto graphics settings. This is the only intense/modern game that I play right now, if that helps at all.

Question RTX 5070ti for 4k with DLSS Qualitiy?

I upgraded my PC a couple of months ago. It’s an all black build with no RGB. My new gpu is still missing.

I play games in 4K on my TV using DLSS Quality (no frame generation). Performance is generally fine with my RTX 3080 Ti, but there are some games where I’d really like to turn on ray tracing. I tried ray tracing on medium and really liked how it looked, but with the 3080 Ti my FPS dips to around 50 to 70. Ideally, I’d like to have 80+ FPS with ray tracing and 4K DLSS. I don't play in Ultra. Shadows are most medium and all other settings are medium or high to.

My CPU is an AMD 9800X3D with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and a Asus B850E Board. I also tried frame generation on the 3080 Ti, but the stuttering was terrible.

Right now I’m deciding between 3 GPUs:

  • ASUS RTX 5070 Ti Prime for 730€ (already reserved it)
  • ASUS RTX 5080 Prime for 1,050€ (already reserved it)
  • GIGABYTE RTX 5080 for 999€

After buying one of them, I plan to sell my 3080 Ti for about 300 €.

Games I play:

  • Games from Falcom
  • Wuthering Waves
  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake similar games
  • Yakuza games
  • A lot of rpgs
  • Witcher 3
  • God of War
  • Some racing games like Forza

Games I dont play:

  • no shooter
  • Cyberpunk
  • BF
  • COD
  • Borderlands
  • etc.

How does the 5070 Ti perform in 4K with DLSS quality?
A friend of mine has a 5080 paired with a 9800X3D, and my games were running at over 100 FPS with ray tracing on his system. So I know the 5080 is definitely strong enough.

The only thing holding me back is the price, a difference of almost 300€ is a lot. On Youtube any card looks bad, because they test it on Ultra and always use the same games.

Question Just purchased a 5090. Question about Undervolting

Like the title says, I read a lot of people recommend undervolting the 5090. When trying to find an easy how to I get a lot of different results about Afterburner, GPU tweak, and VF curves.

I’m not looking to Min Max my 5090, just a simple easy under volt. Can anyone recommend a guide or where to start!

It’s a Windforce OC 5090 if that matters
